Surface Analysis of Tungsten Doped TiO2 Films and Its Effect on Photocatalytic Degradation of Environmental Pollutants
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false Nanocrystalline TiO2 films, undoped and doped W6+ ions have been prepared on cleaned glass substrate by sol-gel route. Formation of anatase TiO2 phase has been confirmed by XRD analysis of the samples annealed at 550oC for 5 hours. Size of nanocrystals calculated by Debye-Scherrer’s formula and measured by TEM was found to decrease with increase in doping level. Average nanocrystal diameter in undoped sample is …

Production of Bioflocculants from Bacillus subtilis-2162 and Determination of Its Flocculating Activity on Heavy Metal Chromium
Abstract: The bioflocculant production potential of Bacillus subtilis-2162 was evaluated using standard methods. The bacteria produced an extracellular bioflocculant. Culture conditions for optimal production of the bioflocculants include: glucose and sucrose as carbon sources; multiple + 2 nitrogen sources including: ammonium sulfate and yeast extract; Ca+2 as sole cation source; and initial medium of pH 7. Characterization of the pure bioflocculants revealed that it is thermostable. Hydroxyl, carboxyl and amino groups …
