Radix Entomolaris: A Clinical Case Report of Endodontic Treatment on Tooth #46
Abstract: Radix entomolaris (RE) is a rare anatomical variation characterized by the presence of an extra root, most often occurring in mandibular molars. This anatomical anomaly can present significant challenges during endodontic treatment, as it alters the traditional root canal morphology, making diagnosis and treatment more complex. In particular, RE is typically found in the mandibular first molar and can complicate canal identification, cleaning, and shaping. This case report describes the …

Extraction of Impacted Lower 3rd Molars immediately after the Single Visit Endodontic treatment of 2nd Molar - A Case Series
Abstract: Patients who visit a dental clinic often anticipate fewer appointments and quicker recovery times. This expectation is particularly relevant when discussing impacted lower third molars in conjunction with decayed second molars. Dentists often struggle with the decision of whether to start endodontic treatment on the second molar or to proceed with extracting the third molar. This dilemma arises due to the absence of sufficient research or documentation specifically addressing the …

Comparative Evaluation of Fiber-Reinforced Composite and Elastic Fiber Posts in Reinforcing Peri-Cervical Dentin: an In-Vitro Study
Abstract: This study evaluates the fracture resistance of short-fiber reinforced composite and elastic fiber posts compared to conventional hybrid composites in reinforcing peri-cervical dentin of endodontically treated teeth. Methods: The crowns of thirty single-canal mandibular premolars were resected to achieve a dimension of 4mm from 1mm below the highest point of the proximal cervical line. In Group 1, teeth underwent endodontic treatment with gutta-percha filled up to the cement-enamel junction (CEJ) …

The Dental Pulp: Vital Core of Tooth Functionality
Abstract: Dental pulp, an intricately specialized mesenchymal tissue, possesses limited regenerative capabilities attributable to the unique anatomical arrangement and the post-mitotic nature of odontoblastic cells. The process of complete pulp amputation, subsequent disinfection of the pulp space, and the insertion of synthetic materials results in the substantial loss of dentin, leading to enduring consequences such as a non-vital and structurally weakened tooth.Nevertheless, a beacon of hope emerges in the form of …

Influence of Polymeric Carriers on the pH-Modifying Properties of Intracanal Medicaments in Root Canal Treatment
Abstract: Calcium hydroxide (CH) preparations and medicated gutta-percha are widely used intracanal medicaments in root canal treatment. These materials often incorporate polymeric carriers to deliver the CH payload and influence its therapeutic effect. This in-vitro study investigates the impact of different polymeric carriers on the pH-modifying properties of intracanal medicaments within the root canal system. The research focuses on two key aspects: (1) the ability of the polymers to control the …

Comparative Evaluation of the Use of LSTR with Double Antibiotic Paste Versus Zinc Oxide Eugenol as Obturating Material in Primary Teeth Pulpectomy
Abstract: The management of infected primary teeth is a vital aspect of pediatric dentistry, with the primary objective being the retention of the tooth in the oral cavity until its natural exfoliation. Preserving the health, structure, and appearance of primary teeth is essential for ensuring the correct eruption and alignment of permanent teeth. Pulpectomy has traditionally been the preferred treatment for primary teeth with irreversible pulp damage. Traditionally, Zinc Oxide Eugenol …
