Characterizing Electromagnetic Behavior of X-Band Rectangular Waveguide with Convex and Concave Shaped Ridges Using Hp-Finite Element Method
Abstract: In this research study, we explore the behavior of electromagnetic waves as they propagate through ridge waveguides with convex and concave shapes, having both single and double walls. To analyze the waveguide's characteristics, we employ the highly accurate hp-finite element method (hp-FEM). The focus is on investigating the impact of these ridge deformations on cutoff frequencies and bandpass for TE10 and TE20 modes. To benchmark our findings, we compare the …

Penetrative Thermomagnetic Convection in a Micropolar Ferrofluid Layer via Internal Heating
Abstract: Through the internal heating model thermomagnetic convection in a micropolar ferrofluid layer has been studied in the presence of a uniform vertical magnetic field. The rigid-isothermal boundaries are considered to be paramagnetic. The eigenvalue problem is solved numerically by Galerkin technique. The system stability is dependent on the various parameters like, dimensionless internal heat source strength Ns, magnetic parameter M1, the non-linearity of magnetization parameter M3, magnetic susceptibility χ, coupling …

Thermomagnetic Convection in a Ferrofluid Layer with Throughflow
Abstract: The effect of vertical throughflow on the onset of thermomagnetic convection in a ferrofluid layer in the presence uniform vertical magnetic field is investigated theoretically. Both the boundaries are considered to be rigid-ferromagnetic and insulated to temperature perturbations. The resulting eigenvalue problem is solved numerically using the Galerkin technique as well as analytically by regular perturbation technique with wave number as a perturbation parameter. Results show that the effect of …

Establishment of A Set of Similarity Prerequisite Conditions for Low-Cost Similitude Design of Structural System
Abstract: Similitude theory and method is a branch of engineering to establish necessary and sufficient conditions for similarity among complex phenomena. It is of great significance to develop the theory and application method in a more comprehensive way so that the similitude theory can be widely applied to low-cost designs of modern complex structural systems When designing a similitude structural system with various loads and boundary conditions, including rotating machines, it …

Revolutionizing Optical Fibre Field Distribution with Linear Finite Element Method
Abstract: This study investigates the use of the linear Finite Element Method (FEM) for the analysis of the field distribution in optical fibres. Understanding the distribution of electric and magnetic fields is necessary to characterise fibre properties including mode profiles, propagation constants, and dispersion, all of which are essential for optimising fibre performance in a range of applications like sensing and telecommunications. This study emphasises on applying a linear FEM formulation …

Analysis of Field Distribution in Optical Fibre Using FEM Method
Abstract: The application of the linear Finite Element Method (FEM) to the analysis of the field distribution in optical fibres is examined in this work. Characterizing fibre characteristics like mode profiles, propagation constants, and dispersion, all of which are critical for maximizing fibre performance in a variety of applications like sensing and telecommunications, requires an understanding of the distribution of electric and magnetic fields. In order to accurately determine the modal …

LQR-Based Optimal Control of Inverted Pendulum System with State Estimation and Stability Analysis
Abstract: The inverted pendulum on a cart is a canonical benchmark problem in control systems engineering, capturing the essential challenges of stabilizing an inherently unstable, underactuated, and nonlinear plant. Classical Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers, while widely employed in industrial practice, exhibit fundamental performance limitations when applied to such systems, primarily due to their inability to account for multivariable coupling, process noise, and the absence of a systematic optimization framework. This paper presents …
