Evaluation of Acute Toxicity Levels and Behavioral Changes to the Fry of Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus, 1758) Under Exposure of a Pyrethroid Insecticide Cypermethrin
Abstract: Toxicity of an insecticide Cypermethrin to the fry of common carp, Cyprinus carpio along with their behavioural changes was evaluated in the present study. The 24, 48, 72, and 96 h LC50 values of Cypermethrin to the fry of Cyprinus carpio were 1.04, 0.92, 0.89, 0.79 ng/l, respectively. The mortality rate of C. carpio showed significant variation (p < .05) with the increasing concentrations at all exposure times. On the …

Assessment of Several Feed Varieties in Carp Polyculture
Abstract: This six-month aquaculture study evaluated the effects of four distinct feeding treatments on the production and development of a five-species polyculture system comprising common carp (Cyprinus carpio), grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella), Rohu, Katla, and Mrigel. The experiment utilized the total volume for eight ponds, each with a volume of 150 m3 is 1200 m3 (cubic meters) to compare: T1 (finely chopped Dubo grass and mash feed), T2 (sinking pellet), T3 …

Invasive Fish Species in India: Challenges, Threats and Impacts
Abstract: There are 31 invasive alien fish species introduced in India for aquaculture purposes, as well as over 600 varieties of ornamental aquarium fishes. Invasions of exotic freshwater fishes have had a negative impact on fish biodiversity. The estimated annual average production of alien species fit for human consumption amounts to approximately 18.2 to 34.5 percent of the annual average production of marketable fish cultures. Many more changes are expected as …
