Surface Roughness in Traverse Cut Cylindrical Grinding of Phosphor Bronze
Abstract: In the present work, traverse cut cylindrical grinding process has been analyzed and optimized to obtain desired surface roughness while machining of phosphor bronze material. Experiments have been planned as per Taguchi’s L16 orthogonal array. Four levels of the input parameters have been used. The parameters are: longitudinal feed, work-speed and in-feed. The results have been studied, plotted and discussed. The effect of process parameters on responses have been analyzed …

Optimization of Surface Roughness in Cylindrical Traverse Cut Grinding of Glass Fibre Reinforced Epoxy Composite
Abstract: Glass fibre reinforced plastic materials are increasingly used in many engineering applications. Making these materials with high level of dimensional accuracy and fine finish has increased enormously. Present work is planned to investigate the effects of grinding parameters infeed, longitudinal feed and work speed on surface roughness in traverse cut cylindrical grinding of glass fibre reinforced epoxy composite. Box-Behnken experimental design has been used to conduct the experimental runs. Analysis …

Evaluation of Abrasive Grinding Parameters in Crankshaft Manufacturing
Abstract: Grinding is a metal cutting operation performed by means of rotating abrasive tool, called “Grinding wheel”. Grinding is done o surface of almost all conceivable shapes and materials of all kinds. In grinding it is possible to achieve very accurate dimensions and smoother surface finish in a very short time and it is only a method after Harding. High temperature to the tune of the 1000 degree Celsius to 1400 …

Combustion Characteristics of Waterlily (Nymphaea lotus Linn.) Briquettes
Abstract: The effect of binder types (bananas, yams, and cassava) and binders proportion on thermal properties of waterlily (Nymphaea lotus Linn.) briquettes were investigated. Peels from bananas, yams, and cassava were collected from agro processing cottage industry. The peels were washed, sun-dried, and ground using a disk mill and Tyler sieves to a particle sizes of 0.50 mm. The waterlily plants were collected from the river using a drag net, sun-dried, …

Experimental Analysis of Cutting Forces Under Different Machining Parameters and Carbide Inserts During Turning of Hardened AISI 4340 Steel
Abstract: Turning of hardened materials with an advanced coated carbide insert has numerous advantages over the grinding process, e.g., reduced process cost, high material removal rate, and less environmental concern due to the elimination of the cutting fluid. Process parameters in conventional machining operations like cutting speed, feed, and depth of cut play the most crucial role behind the generation of heat which also leads to microstructural changes, improved tool life, …
