Image Segmentation Using Credibility Critical Values
Abstract: In this paper, a method of creating fuzzy data matrix (a matrix whose elements are fuzzy variables) representing an image is proposed. Further, a study on image segmentation carried out on the basis of such a matrix is carried out. This work considers three methods of crisp conversion available in credibility theory. Their performances have been evaluated under k-means clustering and rough k-means clustering with the help of a mammogram …

Job Sequencing with Fuzzy Processing Times using Credibility Theory
Abstract: AbstractIn this paper, a new algorithm to find an optimal sequence of ‘ n ’ jobs that has to be processed through ‘m ’ machines is developed by treating the processing times of jobs on the machines as fuzzy (imprecise) variables. The algorithm is similar to that of Johnson (1954) which considers the processing times as precise in nature. The proposed algorithm makes use of the concepts of ‘Credibility Theory’ …

Measures of Location for Imprecise Data
Abstract: AbstractStatistical analysis is usually done on data sets that contain precise information. However, data obtained may not be precise always. This may be due to vagueness in the process of measurement itself or due to the values being expressed in linguistic terms. Data that are not precise are referred to as imprecise data or fuzzy data. Developing statistical measures for imprecise data has been pursued by researchers during the past …

Complete Investigation about Different Factors that Affecting the Mobile Bank Applications
Abstract: AbstractThis study examines customer’s influencing factors to use mobile banking. To achieve the objectives of this study, four variables has been discussed that is on perceived usefulness, perceived ease to use, perceived enjoyment and perceived credibility. 400 questionnaires were distributed to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) staff’s. The data of this study was analyzed using the computer peripherals Social Science Statistics Package (SPSS) version 23. Study found that all the variables …

Buckling and vibration of plates by hyperbolic shear deformation theory
Abstract: Hyperbolic shear deformation theory is used to determine the natural frequencies and buckling loads of elastic plates. The theory takes account of transverse shear effects and hyperbolic cosine distribution of the transverse shear strains through the thickness of the plate, hence it does not require shear correction factor. Governing equations are derived from the principle of virtual work. The closed-form solution of a simply supported plate subjected to in-plane loading …
