Evaluating the Optimal Alccofine-1203 Replacement Ratio in M20 Grade Concrete
Abstract: The primary objective of this research is to investigate the potential of partially replacing cement with Alccofine 1203 in M20 grade control concrete and to evaluate the resulting effects on the mechanical properties of the concrete. Alccofine 1203, a high-performance mineral admixture known for its ultrafine particle size and high reactivity, was used as a partial cement substitute at varying replacement levels of 5%, 10%, and 15% by weight of …

Optimizing Mechanical Properties of Polypropylene Fibre-Reinforced Coconut Shell Concrete
Abstract: This study investigates the impact of polypropylene (PP) fibre reinforcement on the mechanical properties of coconut shell (CS) concrete. The compressive strength of CS concrete is primarily governed by the strength of CS aggregates, with early-age failure attributed to poor bonding and later-stage failure influenced by aggregate strength. The incorporation of PP fibres significantly enhanced compressive, tensile, and flexural strength. At 28 days, compressive strength increased by 1.2–3.45% in CSF …

Enhancing Mechanical and Durability Performance of Composite Material Using Egg Shell Powder and Copper Slag.
Abstract: This research aims to investigate the use of copper slag (CS) and Egg Shell Powder (ESP) as partial substitutes in polymer composite to enhance mechanical properties and durability. Considering that the construction sector is recognized for consuming a significant amount of resources in comparison to other industries, its further expansion poses a direct danger to resource availability. This could disrupt ecosystems, lower biodiversity, and have an effect on riverine and …

ANN Approach to Forecasting the Strength of Nano Silica Incorporated Geopolymer Composite
Abstract: Coal and steel industry by-products, such as fly ash (FA) and blast furnace slag (GGBS), have gained significant attention as precursors for geopolymer concrete (GPC) due to their high aluminosilicate content, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional cement. Nano silica (NS), recognized for its exceptional pozzolanic activity and ability to refine microstructure, has shown potential to enhance the mechanical and durability properties of GPC. This study investigates the influence of …

Parametric Study of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete with Partial Cement Substitution Using Fly Ash and Rice Husk Ash
Abstract: This research aims to evaluate the impact of incorporating steel fibers [SF] and partially substituting cement with rice husk ash [RHA] and fly ash [FA] on the properties of concrete. SF were added in different volume fractions [0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0%], combined with 10% RHA and 20% FA. Initially, the concrete mix contained 30% FA with no RHA, which was then adjusted to a mix of 15% FA …

Investigation of Sulphate, Alkali and Carbonation Chemical attack in GGBS-Based Geopolymer Concrete and OPC Concrete
Abstract: This study presents a comparative evaluation of the durability of GGBFS-based Geopolymer Concrete (GPC) and OPC concrete in rapid carbonation, sulphate, and alkali environments. All samples were subjected to three severe conditions are carbonation at 4% CO₂, 25°C and 60% relative humidity, exposure to a 10% sodium sulphate (Na₂SO₄) solution, and immersion in a 10% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution for alkali resistance. The durability characteristics were evaluated by the compressive …

Enhancing Mechanical and Durability Properties of Coconut Shell Concrete Using Fly Ash
Abstract: The increasing demand for sustainable and lightweight construction materials has driven research into alternative aggregates for concrete production. This study investigates the mechanical and durability properties of coconut shell (CS) concrete with varying percentages of fly ash replacement. The research evaluates compressive strength, split tensile strength, water absorption, and workability to determine the feasibility of CS concrete as a structural material. Experimental findings indicate that incorporating 10% fly ash (CSF10 …

Design and Reliability Analysis of Polymer Pervious Concrete Mix for Preparation of Paver Block
Abstract: Porous concrete is a specially designed kind of concrete featuring high water porosity, allowing water to readily move through the already present interconnecting vast porous structures. The present experimental study emphasized on the production of permeable concrete with a lower Portland cement and recycled aggregate aggregates building environmentally friendly permeable pavements. The literature review suggested in most of the studies the use of single size of aggregate in the pervious …

Fabrication and Characterization of PLA-CSP Composites via FDM for Biodegradable Food Packaging
Abstract: In light of the growing need for environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional plastic packaging, this study presents the design of a food-grade, biocompatible packaging material composed of Polylactic Acid (PLA) and packed with coconut shell powder (CSP). One of the most well-known thermoplastic polymers, PLA is produced from renewable resources like sugarcane or maize starch. Its nontoxicity, biodegradability, and adherence to food safety standards and regulations provide energy. Unfortunately, PLA's …
