Circadian Regulation of Lipid Peroxidation in the Brain: Linking Ferroptosis to Neurodegenerative Vulnerability
Abstract: The human brain operates through highly coordinated physiological and biochemical processes that regulate cognition, behavior, and neural adaptability. Central to these processes are mechanisms governing brain function, neurophysiology, and neuroplasticity, which are increasingly recognized to be influenced by circadian rhythms. Recent advances in cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, and behavioral neuroscience have revealed that disruptions in circadian regulation can significantly impact oxidative balance within the brain, particularly through enhanced lipid peroxidation. Lipid …

Emerging Trends in Photobiology: Exploring the Photophysics and Photobiology of the Eye
Abstract: The eye consists of three main segments: the cornea, lens, and retina. The primary function of the anterior ocular tissue, the cornea and lens, is to transmit and focus light onto the retina without distortion. They also filter UV light (under 400 nm), preventing it from reaching the retina. While light reaching the retina is mostly used for vision, it can also have various effects on the eye's constituents, both …

Lighting Design in Office Spaces: Illuminating the Path to Productivity and Well-being
Abstract: Lighting design in office spaces refers to the intentional planning and implementation of lighting solutions within a workplace environment to meet the functional, aesthetic, and psychological needs of occupants. This research paper delves into the intricate connection between lighting design, mood regulation, and productivity levels within office spaces. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, it investigates how various aspects of lighting, including colour temperature, intensity, distribution, and dynamics, influence …

Light-Dark Cycle Disruption in Hypothalamus Tissue of Mus Musculus Causes Change in the Expression of Gm45928 Gene
Abstract: The majority of organisms on earth display consistent 24-hour rhythms in their physiology and behavior due to circadian biology. Light and dark cycles play a key role in setting our internal body clock, which controls things like our sleep patterns, hormone levels, body temperature, and metabolism. The disruption of the light-dark cycle has significant effects on the molecular and behavioral rhythms of the circadian clock of hypothalamus. Gm45928 is a …

Alcohol, Circadian Glymphatic Dysfunction, and Neurodegenerative Protein Accumulation: An Emerging Concern in the Indian Context
Abstract: Alcohol consumption has long been identified as a major public health issue, yet its deeper and more subtle effects on the human brain are only now coming into sharper focus. Traditional explanations often emphasize direct neuronal damage, but emerging research in neuroscience suggests a more intricate story. Recent findings indicate that alcohol not only harms brain cells but also disrupts the body’s internal biological clock—the circadian rhythm—which plays a critical …

Comprehensive Review on Pulsatile Drug Delivery System: Hybrid Approaches
Abstract: Pulsatile drug delivery systems (PDDS) represent a groundbreaking approach in pharmaceutical technology, allowing for controlled, targeted, and programmable drug release that aligns with circadian rhythms or caters to time-sensitive therapeutic requirements. Although traditional pulsatile systems have shown considerable clinical promise, their effectiveness is frequently compromised by physiological variations such as gastrointestinal transit times, changes in pH, and enzymatic activity. To tackle these obstacles, hybrid PDDS have been developed by combining …

Passive Digital Phenotyping for Longitudinal Burnout and Occupational Mental Health Surveillance: A Transformer-Based Explainable Deep Learning Approach Using Smartphone Behavioral Streams
Abstract: Occupational burnout constitutes a pervasive yet chronically under-surveilled public health threat, its insidious temporal evolution rendering episodic self-report instruments structurally inadequate for early detection. This paper introduces BurnoutSense, a passive digital phenotyping framework that continuously harvests eight heterogeneous smartphone behavioral data streams encompassing application usage ecology, communication metadata, geospatial mobility, screen interaction dynamics, inferred sleep rhythmicity, keystroke kinematics, ambient noise exposure, and battery/charging cadence to construct individualized multivariate behavioral signatures …
