Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS) Profile Revealed Flavonoids with Antioxidant Potential in Butanol Fraction of Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf Extract
Abstract: Gymnema sylvestre (Asclepiadaceae) is widely used in the treatment of several diseases associated with oxidative stress. This study aimed to identify Flavonoids with antioxidant potentials in Butanol fraction of Gymnema sylvestre leaf extract. In vitro antioxidant activity was studied using DPPH and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP). The results revealed higher radical scavenging activity of 86.53±0.86 in DPPH compared to the control Ascorbic acid with 84.71±0.61 and also similarly in …

In vitro Antioxidant Activity and Phytochemical Analysis of Different Polar Solvent Extracts Obtained from Zanthoxylum rhetsa (Roxb) Bark
Abstract: This study was carried out to evaluate the phytochemical and antioxidant effectiveness of methanolic extract and different fractions (n-butanol, ethyl acetate, chloroform and n-hexane) of Z. rhetsa bark. Phytochemical activity of Zanthoxhylum rhetsa (Roxb) bark extract alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, steroids, saponins and antraquinones was carried out. Antioxidant scavenging enzyme profile assays were done and profiles were developed for validation. The results indicated that bark extract and fractions of Z. rhetsa …

Anti-ulcer Properties of Methanol Extract and its Solvent Fractions of Stem Bark of Lannea acida on Indomethacin Induced Gastric Ulcer in Albino Rats
Abstract: Lannea acida is use in Nigeria for the treatment of Peptic ulcers. The methanol and its solvent fractions (hexane, ethylacetate and butanol) of the stem bark of Lannea acida were evaluated for antiulcerogenic activity using indomethacin model. The anti-ulcerogenic mechanisms of the plant using the model employed in this study were done by estimation of Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Glutathione (GSH), Catalase (CAT), Vitamins A, C and E, and Malondialdehyde (MDA). …
