Genomic Characterization of Emerging Arboviruses in Rural India
Abstract: Arboviruses (arthropod-borne viruses) represent a rapidly evolving group of pathogens responsible for significant morbidity and mortality, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Rural India, characterized by dense vector populations, changing ecological patterns, and limited healthcare infrastructure, has become a hotspot for the emergence and re-emergence of arboviral diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, and more recently, Zika virus infections. Advances in genomic technologies, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), metagenomics, and …

Japanese Encephalitis and Dengue Fever Co-infection
Abstract: Dengue virus (DENV) and Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) are two significant pathogenic viruses that can cause severe encephalitis. Dengue and Japanese encephalitis are vector-borne illnesses.Arboviruses that are carried by mosquitoes are significant India's causes of death and morbidity The rainy season, when the vector population grows, is when both dengue and Japanese encephalitis transmissions peak. We still don't fully understand how the CNS is involved in dengue and Japanese encephalitis …

Scientific Trajectories in Indian Virology: Innovations, Institutions, and Impact
Abstract: India's substantial research on epidemiology, virology, and public health measures has helped the world understand viral infections better. This article gives an overview of virus research in India, starting with early studies on arboviruses and enteroviruses and going all the way up to current studies on new and re-emerging pathogens including SARS-CoV-2, Nipah, and Zika viruses. Over the decades, India has built a rich legacy in virus research through pioneering …

In Silico Identification of Therapeutic Agents for Dengue Virus by Molecular Docking
Abstract: The dengue virus causes serious health issues and a loss of quality of life. Dengue poses a yearly threat to half of the world’s population. The drugs that are based on allopathy are expensive and also exhibit toxic effects on tissues and biological activities. It is also generally accepted that most pharmacologically active drugs, including those derived from medicinal plants, are isolated from natural sources. The present study is directed …
