Image Reconstruction of Noisy Distorted Images Using Deep Learning Methods: A Review
Abstract: AbstractThe field of digital image processing deals not only with the extraction of features and analysis of images but also restoration of images. Image restoration is one of the basic steps of processing that deals with making certain improvements in a digital image based on some predefined criteria. A deep learning architecture for image restoration that attains statistically significant improvements over traditional algorithms is Poisson image de-noising, especially when the …

BER Improvement in Fading Conditions Using QAM
Abstract: AbstractThe future mobile network requires huge capacity, coverage, energy efficiency and spectral efficiency. In different fading conditions, like Gaussian noise channel, Rician fading and Rayleigh fading conditions, higher order QAM can improve spectral efficiency by improving bit error rate. Additive white Gaussian noise model describes the effect of random processes in nature. Rayleigh distribution has static time varying nature on the receiver side. The envelope of Rician fading is small …

Bit Error Rate Reduction in DWT-OFDM Systems using a Novel Error Correction Scheme
Abstract: Proposed Error Correction scheme has been implemented on Discrete Wavelet Transform based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DWT-OFDM) system using simulations by MATLAB. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the proposed system has been studied in terms of signal to noise ratio (Eb/No). The proposed system has been examined under Additive White Gaussian Noise Channel (AWGN), and it has been compared with the ½ rate convolution encoded DWT-OFDM. Further, the …

Wavelets-based Denoising by Optimizing Polynomial Threshold Function
Abstract: In this paper, a wavelets-based technique for denoising of one-dimensional signals is proposed which employs artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm for optimizing a new polynomial threshold function. The coefficients of the threshold function are optimized dynamically to maximize the output signal to noise ratio (SNR). ABC algorithm calculates the coefficients for maximum output SNR. The proposed technique is tested for three artificial signals, namely blocks, bumps and Doppler signals. Additive …

Comparison Between Reed–Solomon and BCH Code with Various Modulation Schemes Over Coding Gain and Coding Rate
Abstract: The main objective of this research paper is to make a comparison between the performance of Reed-Solomon (RS) and Bose–Chaudhuri–Hocquenghem (BCH) codes across different modulation schemes concerning coding gain and coding rate within an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel system, while maintaining a constant transmission bandwidth. In this paper bit error rate (BER) versus signal/noise (S/N) performance of a Simulink model is validated with MATLAB results for a RS …

Application of Radial Basis Function Neural Network in Power Quality Events Classification
Abstract: Power Quality concerns have become more important as the Smart Grid has evolved. Computers, microprocessor-controlled electronic loads, and power electronic devices are all used in urban development. Disturbances in power quality are caused by these electronic devices. Variations in the amplitude and frequency of system voltages and currents from their nominal levels identify PQ difficulties. We offer a hybrid technique to accomplishing this goal in this paper. To classify PQ …

Power Spectral Study of Heart Rate Variability Time Series by the Adaptive Modified Continuous Morlet Wavelet Transform
Abstract: In this paper, a newly developed method referred as adaptive modified continuous Morlet wavelet transform has been proposed to improve the energy concentration in the time-frequency domain. The improvement is achieved by introducing the shape parameter to the Morlet function that is known as modified Morlet function. To make it adaptive, the modified Morlet function was optimized by concentration measure based on automatic determination algorithm. The proposed method was validated …

Noise-Driven Collective Behavior in Mean-Field Coupled Lorenz Oscillator Networks
Abstract: This work investigates the spatiotemporal dynamics of an ensemble of 100 identical Lorenz oscillators coupled through a mean-field scheme in the presence of additive noise. Building on prior studies of spatiotemporal chaos in coupled Lorenz arrays and mean-field coupled chaotic oscillators, the focus is on how the competition between deterministic coupling and stochastic forcing shapes collective behavior, including complete synchronization, desynchronization, clustered states, and noise-modified spatiotemporal chaos. The governing equations …
