Toxicological and Pharmacological Effect of Khadirarista in Animal Model
Abstract: AbstractThe objective of this study is to investigate the toxicological and pharmacological aspects of the popular Ayurvedic preparation Khadirarista (KDR). Khadirarista was administered orally to male albino rat. After 46 days of treatment period, animals were fasted for 18 h after the last administration. Biochemical studies including; total protein, serum albumin, blood urea nitrogen, bilirubin, creatinine, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase were conducted. Triglyceride and creatinine levels were …

Development and validation of a method for simulataneous determination of tenovifir disoproxil fumarate emtriculabine and isonized in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form using RP-HPLC with relevance to toxicological aspects
Abstract: Hence, proposed analytical methods are simple, novel, economical, rapid, sensitive, reproducible and accurate for the Simultaneous estimation of Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, Emtricitabine and Isoniazid in Bulk and Phamaceutical dosage form by using RP- HPLC. This Method gives reliable assay results with short analysis time using mobile phase of Acetonitrile : 0.02M Potassium Dihydrogen Orthophosphate: water (pH 5.3) in the ratio of 60: 25: 15 respectively. Retention time was found to …

The Acute Toxicological Effects of Paraquat on Male Reproductive Hormones (Testosterone, Luteinizing Hormone and Follicle Stimulating Hormone) of Intoxicated Rats
Abstract: Paraquat (PQ) a contact herbicide widely used to control weeds in agricultural, recreational, or industrial sites has been linked in various studies as a contributory agent to high male infertility in regions of most use. The current study investigated the acute toxicity effect of PQ administered intraperitoneal (ip.) on reproductive hormones; luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and testosterone (Te) of male rats. 24 rats, grouped four per group …

Toxicity Evaluation of a Few PAHs on a Local Freshwater Fish—Rasbora daniconius
Abstract: Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) have become ubiquitous pollutants of water resulting mainly from petroleum products. These are absorbed into the living systems and converted into secondary metabolites which show bioaccumulation in the living systems and have several deleterious effects on them. The present study attempts to evaluate toxicity of two such PAHs— Naphthalene and Anthracene—on the freshwater fish, Rasbora daniconius, using pure PAHs dissolved in dichloromethane. LC50 values were seen …

Studies on acute toxicity and behavioral responses of Heteropneustes fossilis (Linn.) exposed to Diazinon
Abstract: In the present study, acute toxicity of the organophosphate pesticide, diazinon, was evaluated under experimental condition to adult Heteropneustes fossilis. The 96 h LC50 with 95% confidence limits of Heteropneustes fossilis is 16.56 (14.32- 18.04) mg/l. None of the unexposed control fish died during the experiment. Mortality rate between each dose and mortality rate between 24-96 h depending on time was correlated. In the fish, significant relationship (p<0.05) was recorded …

Arsenic Induced Cytotoxicity Study Against Human Epithelial Carcinoma (HeLa) Cell
Abstract: The present investigation was undertaken to find out the cytotoxic effects of various amounts of arsenic exposure to human epithelial carcinoma (HeLa) cell. Cells were treated with a final concentration (0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 µg/l) of arsenite in 5 ml MEM for 24 h where 0 concentration was considered as control. Cell viability was determined by the trypan blue (TB) exclusion test using hematocytometer and automated BIO-RAD …

Toxicology-Focused Development and Validation of an RP-HPLC Technique for Quantifying Bempefoic Acid and Rosuvastatin in a Fixed-Dose Combination
Abstract: A straightforward, precise method was developed to simultaneously assess Bempedoic acid and Rosuvastatin in both bulk and tablet forms. Utilizing a DIKMA Spursil C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 3.0 μm), chromatography was conducted with a mobile phase comprising 30% phosphate buffer and 70% acetonitrile, flowing at 1 ml/min. Operating at ambient temperature, the optimized wavelength for detection was set at 240 nm, revealing retention times of 4.418 min …

Cytotoxic, Anthalmintic and Analgesic Activities of the Methanol Extract of Ricinus communis (Family: Euphorbiaceae)
Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical screening, cytotoxicity, anthelmintic activity and analgesic properties of the methanol extract (leaves) of Ricinus communis (Family: Euphorbiaceae). The methanol extract of the leaves showed mild cytotoxic activity with the LC50 value 6.456 µg/mL compared to vincristine sulfate (LC50 0.812 µg/mL) using brine shrimp lethality bioassay. The anthelmintic activity was performed by observing the time of paralysis and the time of …

Antibacterial, Cytotoxicity Studies of Azukia mungo (L.) Masam and Correlation with in silico Docking Studies
Abstract: Introduction and Background: Azukia genus plants rich in proteinaceous anti-nutrients like tannins (especially condensed tannins) has been shown to have anti-bacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and antineoplastic activity against lung and liver cancer cells. Five types of procyanidins (condensed tannins) have already been isolated from Azukia mungo and structurally elucidated. But its activity against the Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has not yet been shown. Hence we focus our work …
