Parametric Optimization of Biocompatible Ti6AL4V Alloy on Selective Laser Melting for Enhanced Structural Support and Reduced Stress Shielding
Abstract: The Selective Laser Melting technique is widely employed in the production of complexly shaped end products for a range of industries, including biomedical, aerospace, automotive, and defence. SLM is a complicated manufacturing process since a lot of factors influence the characteristics of the items that are printed using it. The SLM printing of fully dense parts is becoming more and more popular for various high-end applications. Because of their biocompatibility …

Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Cr3C2-NiCr Coated Ti6Al4V Implant Alloy
Abstract: Ti6Al4V alloys are widely used in medical and aerospace applications due to their superior mechanical properties. But, Ti6Al4V alloys are poor in tribological properties such as wear. Poor wear resistance consequences in the formation of wear debris in human implants and leads to inflammation and pain. In this work, Cr3C2-NiCr coatings were applied to improve the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness and tribological properties such as wear resistance. …

Dry Sliding Wear Behavior of Al2O3-TiO2 Coated Ti6Al4V Alloy based on Taguchi Method
Abstract: AbstractTi6Al4V alloys are extensively used as implant material for bio-medical applications due to their high specific strength. But, their poor wear resistance results in formation of wear debris in implants and causing soreness. In this work, Al2O3-TiO2 coatings were applied to improve the wear resistance and hardness. Al2O3-TiO2 coatings are deposited on the substrate with 100, 200, 300, 400 µm thickness using detonation spray (DS). Pin on disc wear tests …

Conceptual Design and Static Model Analysis of Landing Gear
Abstract: An aircraft's landing gear system plays a critical role in effectively managing and dissipating kinetic energy generated during the landing impact, as well as mitigating vibrations induced by the aircraft's passage over irregular runway surfaces. This capability is indispensable for the proper functioning of a well-designed landing system. Among the various types of shock absorber landing gear systems employed in aircraft, the oleo-pneumatic shock absorber stands out as the most …

Principles and Use of Analytical Transmission Electron Microscope
Abstract: At the beginning of the review the analytical Transmission Electron Microscope is introduced. Equipment, imaging, diffraction and use of analytical TEM are described. Electron path under magnetic lens is delineated, emphasizing the lens aberrations, diffraction, astigmatism and gun brightness. Selected area electron diffraction patterns of Al-Cu and Inconel super alloy are used to index crystallographic planes and to derive zone direction while basic sources of diffraction contrast are depicted using …
