Analysis of Sound Transmission Loss in Hybrid Mufflers for Automotive Applications
Abstract: An exhaust system's noise level can be reduced with the use of a muffler. There is general recognition that baffled exhaust mufflers reduce noise emissions and increase the loss of sound transmission. The reduction of sound transmission can be further achieved by inserting sound-absorbing materials inside the muffler. Exhaust muffler systems with strategically positioned baffles have been shown to effectively reduce noise emissions, thereby improving acoustic performance. Baffles divert and …

A Simplistic Review of the Soundex Algorithm: The Magic of Phonetics
Abstract: As a human, we always make mistakes while pronouncing words, names, and terms that sound alike. As a result of which those spellings are difficult to identify. To simplify this problem, we have discussed an algorithm called Soundex algorithm which provides a solution to pronunciation problems by giving a similar code with 1-letter and 3-digit code as a syntactical solution to all terms that sound alike. In this study, we …

Classifying Abnormalities in Heartbeat Sound
Abstract: Heartbeat sounds play a major role in the detection of various diseases such as heart disease, hyperthyroidism, and high blood pressure in their early stages. In the proposed method, various abnormal and healthy heartbeat audio signals are given as input and the features are extracted using MFCC (mel-frequency cepstral coefficients). Then, a deep learning approach is applied in which the MFCC audio signals are sent to the CNN (convolutional neural …
