Polystyrene Plastic Waste into Liquid Fuel Using Silica-Alumina Catalyst, Extracted from Rice Husk
Abstract: Catalytic Pyrolysis of Polystyrene (PS) into fuel like products using silica alumina catalyst that was extracted from rice husk was investigated over temperature range of 430–470°C. The output of catalytic pyrolysis was liquid oil, solid residues (char) and gaseous fraction. The product yields as a function of temperature, time and catalyst amount were studied. High conversion of liquid (48.8%) was achieved at 430 and 450ºC in the presence of 12.5 …

A Review on Hybrid Inorganic–Polymer Analog Nanocomposites Incorporating Pozzolanic Wastes and nano-Additives
Abstract: The recent progress of polymer matrix nanocomposites (PMNCs) reveals that the performance of matrix and filler is at the core of matrix–filler interaction, interfacial bonding, and well-controlled distribution of nanoscale reinforcements. Applying these concepts, we consider inorganic particulate systems as hybrid nanocomposites, in which a discontinuous inorganic matrix is effectively reinforced via synergistic co-incorporation of pozzolanic wastes and nano-additives. In the composite system described above, silica-, alumina-rich pozzolanic materials serve …

Red Mud Particles' Impact on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of AA6005 Composites for Brake Rotor Applications
Abstract: There is increasing focus on utilizing industrial waste as reinforcement in metal matrix composites, driven by the demand for eco-friendly and cost-effective materials in automotive applications. With an emphasis on their possible use in braking rotors, this study examines how red mud particles affect the microstructure and mechanical characteristics of AA6005 aluminum alloy composites. Red mud, a byproduct of the Bayer process, is a good low-cost ceramic reinforcement because it …

Synthesis, Characterization of Mesoporous Zeolite BEA and Its Application in Multicomponent Reactions
Abstract: Strongly acidic mesoporous zeolite beta (MZB or Beta/MCM-41composite) with bimodal pore structure and stepwise distributed acidity has been synthesized by novel route using zeolite BEA as silica-alumina source. The material was characterized by various techniques. Powder XRD showed the existence of well-structured microphase zeolite Beta and mesophase MCM-41 in the composite materials. The performance of the composite material as a catalyst was investigated for the synthesis of various biologically active …

Review of Synthesizing of Fuel from Plastic Waste
Abstract: Plastics are an important part of our daily life. It is cheap, easy to produce, and its faster rate of production are making it to be produced in larger quantities; on the other hand, plastics play important role in industrial applications also. In that situation, if plastic it is not disposed properly, lots of environmental challenges arise. In that condition, waste plastics need to be recycled; regeneration or its utilization …

A Review of Properties of Geopolymer Concrete
Abstract: The growing need for concrete around the world has led to both more concrete being made and more of it being used. Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere when regular Portland cement is made, which contributes to global warming (OPC). because concrete that is good for the environment needs new kinds of binders. Using different binders could cut down on the energy needed to make traditional concrete and the …

A systematic Review on Laterite based geopolymer
Abstract: Laterite based geopolymer has been widely studied as a sustainable alternative to Portland cement in construction industry. However, its thermal performance is still a challenge due to the low thermal conductivity and low temperature resistance. In this paper, recent studies on the improvement of thermal performance of laterite based geopolymer using additives are reviewed. The additives studied include organic materials, metal oxides and natural fillers. The effect of these additives …

Influences of Silica Fume to Engineering Properties of High Volume Fly Ash Concrete (HVFC)
Abstract: High volume fly ash concrete (HVFC) is one kind of the most promising concrete materials in the 21st century. HVFC has special properties such as high flowability, mechanical strength meets the requirements of contruction standards, low permeability, high durability, and others. Furthermore, HVFC is able to continuously develop strength during long time because the high activity alumina-silicates in the fly ash particles are dissolved slowly and prolong. Therefore, this study …
