Review on Severe Plastic Deformation Techniques for Bulk Materials: Deformation Behavior and Properties
Abstract: This paper presents a detailed review of the efficient application of Severe Plastic Deformation for the fabrication of ultra-fine-grained and nanostructured crystalline bulk materials. Severe Plastic Deformation allows substantial grain refinement while largely preserving the original dimensions of the workpiece, making it especially suitable for ductile materials capable of sustaining very high strains under elevated hydrostatic pressure prior to failure. The study investigates the grain refinement mechanisms involved in Severe …

Influence of Die Design Parameters and Mechanical Properties of AA5083 Through Equal Channel Angular Pressing Technique
Abstract: Refinement of the grain structure in bulk Materials is achieved using the Equal Channel Angular Pressing process. The material is pass through a die in this procedure that has two channels that meet at a particular angle. Finer grains are formed as a result of the material's deformation when it passes through die. The creation of ultra-fine grains is influenced by a number of die design characteristics. The effects of …

Investigation and Concerns on the Mechanics Behind Grain Refinement During ECAP Operation with Applications to Polymers
Abstract: Materials science and engineering have studied Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) grain refining. This abstract discusses important findings and concerns about grain refining mechanics during ECAP.A adaptable severe plastic deformation method; ECAP refines grain patterns in many metallic materials. Many researches have attempted to understand this phenomenon's complex mechanisms. Microhardness and microstructure (morphology) of AL alloy increase with the increase in pass numbers. It is observed that the mechanical property …
