Rainfall-runoff Modeling using HEC-HMS Hydrologic Model for Guder River Watershed, Blue Nile Basin, Ethiopia
Abstract: Rainfall-runoff modeling is important for a number of hydrologic applications including flood forecasting, water resource planning and management. This study presents the result of a watershed rainfall-runoff modeling for Guder river watershed having area of 6597 km 2 using Hydrologic Engineering Center-Hydrologic Modeling Systems (HEC-HMS). The watershed runoff is varying spatially and temporally due to manmade factors and natural factors on the watershed. These issue needs efficient water resource planning …

Radial Basis Function Neural Networks for Rainfall-Runoff Modeling
Abstract: Rainfall-runoff process is purely nonlinear and varies spatially as well as temporally. Any hydrological model requires many parameters which represent different components of the process. Availability of all the parameters is difficult for any catchment and probabilistic generation of such type of data is impossible. Under such circumstances, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have proven to be a better tool to model the rainfall-runoff process with minimum available data. The present …

Rainfall Runoff Modeling Using SCS-CN Method: A GIS Based Case Study of Pawana Watershed
Abstract: In a country over 125 million, we are proudly an agricultural based economy, wherein 51% of population is indulged in any business related to somehow with agriculture. Of course, we still are in a developing stage as far as methodologies or their implementation is concerned. But surely somewhere we have started focusing on modern techniques and strategies to improve pattern, productivity, profit and all. The two vital natural resources required …

HEC-HMS Based Estimation of Rainfall Runoff Relationship in Central Highlands of Ethiopia, a Case Study in Beressa Watershed
Abstract: Rainfall and runoff are the most frequently used events in hydrology. Calculating of a flow at the outlet of river is vigorous for a number of hydrologic studies like water resource management and flood forecasting. This study supported out to estimate rainfall-runoff relation in Beressa watershed. HEC-HMS model is used to pretend rainfall-runoff process and to apply the rainfall-runoff analysis by using SCS_CN method in Beressa Watershed. A physical based …

Development of Mathematical Model to Predict Annual Runoff in Port Harcourt City, Rivers State, Nigeria
Abstract: This paper is aimed at monitoring and predicting annual runoff of Port Harcourt city for a classified area type and flat land of 0–5% slope. Mathematical models were developed to monitor and simulate annual runoff of an area type of 30% impervious (paved), 50% impervious (paved) and 70% impervious (paved) within the Port Harcourt city. The analysis of annual rainfall and annual runoff data gives a coefficient of determination of …

Hydrological Modeling and Classification of Various Models: A Review
Abstract: Hydrology is the science which deals with the existence, movement and distribution of water of the earth, below the earth and earth’s atmosphere. As one of the branches of earth science, hydrology deals with the water in waterways and lakes, precipitation and snow, snow on the terrestrial and water underneath the earth and rocks. Hydrology has its links with meteorology, geography, measurements, science, material science and liquid mechanics. Engineers and …
