Pylorus Ligation Induced Gastric Ulcer Protection by Sesamum Indicum Ethanolic Seed Extract
Abstract: The present study was performed in pylorus ligation induced ulcer model in Wister rats, in which ability to provide gastric protection was studied at two different doses 200 and 400 mg/kg calculated based on the acute toxicity study. Gastric protection was evaluated by assessing various parameters like gastric volume, pH, total acidity, free acidity, ulcer index and percentage inhibition of ulceration. Ranitidine at 50 mg/kg was used as the standard …

Evaluation of Anti-ulcer Activity of Ethanolic Extract of Salacia fruticosa and Oldenlandia Umbellata
Abstract: In this present study the aerial and root parts of Salacia fruticosa and the entire herb of Oldenlandia umbellate were evaluated for its anti-ulcer property in Aspirin induced ulcer model and Pylorus ligation assays. Both plant materials were extracted with ethanol and given at the dose level of 200mg/kg orally after the LD50 studies to fix the dose. Ulcer index, free acidity and total acidity in pylorus ligated and aspirin …

Evaluation of Antiulcer Activity of Allamanda cathartica Aqueous Leaf Extract in Experimental Rat Models
Abstract: A peptic ulcer is an open sore that forms on an epithelial surface of the stomach. To decrease the incidence of relapses, side effects, drug interactions of the existing drugs, and to increase the use of available phytochemicals, this present study was aimed to evaluate the antiulcer activity of Allamanda cathartica using pyloric ligation induced gastric ulcer model and Aspirin-induced gastric ulcer model. In pyloric ligation induced gastric ulceration model, …
