Research to Improve the Performance of Position Control System Using the SPMSM Based on the Time-varying High Order Sliding Mode Control Method
Abstract: This paper proposes the method of position control system design using permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) based on the time-varying high order sliding mode control (TVHOSMC) strategy. In the conventional sliding mode control (SMC) system the chattering phenomenon appears in the vicinity of the sliding plane and while the error state of system reaches the sliding plane, the system is sensitive to the external disturbance and the parameter change. Thus, …

Deploying Fuzzy Logic for Self-Tuning Regulator Design for Motion Control in Modern Electrical Machines
Abstract: Modern electrical machines require sophisticated motion control systems capable of adapting to varying operating conditions, load disturbances, and parameter uncertainties. Traditional self-tuning regulators (STR) based on classical control theory often struggle with nonlinearities, time-varying dynamics, and complex operational environments characteristic of contemporary electric drives. This article presents a comprehensive framework for deploying fuzzy logic in self-tuning regulator design to address these challenges in motion control applications. Fuzzy logic controllers leverage …

High Efficiency Linear Motion Using Sequential Coil Electromagnetic Propulsion Train
Abstract: The Electromagnetic Propulsion Train project efforts on developing a model that proves linear motion using exactly controlled electromagnetic forces. Dissimilar conventional railway systems that depend on mechanical drives, traction motors, and wheel–rail friction, this model uses a coordinated arrangement of electromagnets positioned along the track to generate attractive and repulsive forces, which together produce the essential propulsion. This method reduces dependence on mechanical movement and highlights the possible of magnetic …
