Optical, Thermal Properties of Cadmium Chloride Reinforced PVA:PVP Blend Films
Abstract: In this study, pure polymer blend film (PVA:PVP) and salt (CdCl2.H2O) reinforced polymer blend films were prepared at different weight ratios (10, 20, 30) wt% using the casting method. The optical and thermal properties of all polymer blend films were studied. The transmittance and absorbance spectra were recorded within the wavelength range (190-1100) nm. The effect of salt weight ratio on the energy gap of salt (CdCl2.H2O) reinforced polymer blend films …

The Mechanical Properties of Manganese Chloride Salt Reinforced [PVA: PVP] Blend Films
Abstract: In this study, pure [PVA: PVP] polymer blend film and MnCl2·4H2O salt reinforced polymer blend films at different weight ratios (10–50) wt%) were prepared by using the casting method. The effect of salt weight ratio on the mechanical properties of the [PVA: PVP] polymer blend films reinforced by MnCl2·4H2O salt was also studied. The experimental results obtained from the tensile test of the [PVA: PVP] polymer blend films reinforced by …

A Study on the Effect of Ionic Conductivity on Addition of Salt for Polymer Nanocomposite Gel Electrolyte for Solar Cell Applications
Abstract: AbstractDye sensitized solar cells (DSSC) have attracted greater attention in the recent years because of their relatively high energy conversion efficiency and low cost. In the DSSCs, the electrolytes play a vital role in the determination of the efficiency and long term stability. In this investigation, we report on the synthesis, characterization and conductivity study of polymer nanocomposite gel electrolyte. Cadmium oxide nanoparticles were added into polymer blend of poly …

Synthesis and Characterization of Polymer Blend Electrolyte Based on Bio-degradable Polymers Doped with Ammonium Iodide
Abstract: A polymer blend of Polyvinylalchohol (PVA) and Polyvinylpyrrilodine (PVP) doped with ammonium iodide (NH4I) has been prepared by solution casting method to develop a new solid polymer electrolyte. The influence of NH4I on the structural, electrical characteristics of PVA/PVP blend was investigated utilizing XRD, FTIR and impedance spectroscopy techniques. Structural properties were studied by using the XRD technique and found that the pure polymer blend is in semi crystalline form, …

A Review on Biodegradability of Different Synthetic Vinyl Polymer Composite Blends
Abstract: The last few decades witnessed rapid rise in usage of polymers because of their growing demands in different industries. Mostly, non-biodegradable polymers form the larger proportion and there persistent usage leads to accumulation of hazardous chemicals in the environment. Therefore, to meet the demands, biodegradable polymers, polymers need to induced, designed and further modified to reduce generation of harmful byproducts. As synthetic polymers are durable than the natural polymers emerging …

BisGMA/Thermoplastic Polymer Blends: A Study of Mechanical and Corrosive Properties
Abstract: AbstractThe objective of this work is to synthesize various blends of Bisphenol-A-glycidyldimethacrylate (BisGMA) resin with different proportions of thermoplastic polymers like poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and poly-ethyleneoxazoline (PEOZ) and to study their mechanical and corrosive properties. The experimental results showed that BisGMA/PVP and BisGMA/PEOZ blends displayed an improvement in the mechanical properties over unmodified BisGMA resin and the 50:50 blend system is the optimum blend composition in both BisGMA/PVP and BisGMA/PEOZ blends. …
