Volumetric Properties of PEG-400 in FS-13 Diluent for 293.15 K to 343.15 K at 0.1 MPa
Abstract: PEG-400 in FS-13 solvent was proposed for strontium extraction from spent fuel solution in back end of nuclear fuel cycles. Densities and viscosities of solutions of PEG-400 and FS-13 were not available in literature. Densities and viscosities of binary mixture of extractant PEG-400 in FS-13 diluent was measured from 293.15 to 323.15 K. The excess molar volume (VE) and excess Gibb’s free energy of activation (DGE) was evaluated from density …

Characterization of Formed Third Phase in the Nitric Acid-30% TBP/n-Dodecane System
Abstract: In solvent extraction operations, limited solubility of extracted solvate in the organic phase results in partitioning of the later into two phases, called light organic and heavy organic phase respectively. The phenomenon is studied well and reported for tetravalent actinides in TBP systems but nitric acid third phase in TBP systems was almost neglected. In this study, nitric acid third phase was generated for TBP system and its characterization has …

PVT Properties of Alternate PUREX diluent 4,4-Dipropyl Heptane
Abstract: 4,4-Dipropyl Heptane (Hydrogenated propylene tetramer) is an alternate diluent for PUREX process, employed for reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel. Its PVT properties are not available in literature. With group contribution method, PVT properties of 4,4-dipropyl heptane were estimated and reported in this work. A corresponding- states based equation as well as Wagner constants were also reported in the range of 273.15K to critical temperature. Keywords: PVT properties, 4, 4-dipropyl heptane, …
