Investigating The Influence of Sic Reinforcement on The Mechanical and Tribological Properties of PA12 Polymer Composites in SLS
Abstract: The study investigates the mechanical and tribological performance of neat PA12 polymer and SiC-reinforced PA12 polymer composites made via Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). To evaluate just how reinforcement has influence upon overall performance, we incorporated into the PA12 polymer matrix a constant amount of 5 wt.% of Silicon Carbide (SiC). Mechanical testing focused on both tensile and fatigue behavior and testers conducted it with a Servo-Hydraulic Multipurpose High-Capacity Fatigue Test …

Analysis of Ageing and Degradation Behavior of Polyamide-12 for Sustainable Additive Manufacturing
Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM), particularly High-Speed Sintering (HSS), has emerged as a transformative technology capable of producing complex thermoplastic parts with high efficiency and minimal material waste. The HSS process involves selective deposition of radiation-absorbing ink followed by infrared heating to consolidate polymer powders-most commonly polyamide-12 (PA12). While PA12 is widely used due to its excellent thermal stability and mechanical properties, the sustainability of HSS strongly depends on the reuse of …

Influence of SlS Parameters on Strength and Fatigue Durability of Polyamide-12
Abstract: Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), a laser-based polymer powder bed fusion process, has gained prominence in the fabrication of high-performance thermoplastics such as Polyamide-12 (PA12). This paper provides an extensive review of how key SLS process parameters—such as laser power, scan speed, hatch spacing, and energy density—affect the mechanical properties of PA12 components, with a specific focus on tensile strength and fatigue resistance. Studies demonstrate that increasing energy input enhances particle …

Development of strontium ferrite/polyamide 12 and neodymium iron boron/polyamide 12 composites using additive manufacturing
Abstract: Polymer matrix composite materials with magnetic properties obtained by the addition of micron-size particles of neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) and strontium ferrite for fused filament fabrication (FFF) are becoming attractive because of their potential applications in the health and automotive industries. Additionally, the design flexibility and low cost of additive manufacturing processes encourage the scientific community to create the materials and understand the properties of the parts obtained with such …
