A Review Natural Ventilation by Using Solar Chimney
Abstract: A solar chimney is an effective and sustainable ventilation technology designed to enhance airflow within residential and commercial buildings by utilizing natural convection. Operating on principles like a traditional fireplace, a solar chimney harnesses solar energy to generate an upward air movement, creating a pressure difference that drives passive ventilation. The system comprises a vertical shaft, usually constructed with heat-absorbing materials, which captures solar radiation and heats the enclosed air. …

A study to assess the effect of nature-based sound therapy during weaning among Mechanically Ventilated patients admitted in intensive care units of a selected tertiary care hospital Ludhiana, Punjab
Abstract: Weaning is a gradual transition from full invasive ventilatory support to spontaneous ventilation with minimal support. This conducted to assess the effect of nature-based sound therapy among Mechanically Ventilated Patients admitted in Intensive Care units. An experimental design (randomized controlled trial) was used to assess the effect of nature-based sound therapy during weaning among Mechanically Ventilated patients.30 patients were drawn from the target population by using convenience sampling technique and …

Design and Development of Onion Storage Shade for Better Ventilation and Longer Life
Abstract: Onions are one of the most important cash crops for farmers in India and many other countries. However, most harvested onions are lost every year due to improper storage. Traditional storage methods, such as keeping onions in heaps under trees, in closed rooms, or in poorly ventilated sheds, do not provide sufficient airflow. As a result, moisture accumulates, leading to sprouting, fungal growth, rotting, and physical damage. These losses reduce …

Heat Stress Mitigation in Resource-Constrained Dairy Farming Systems: Practical Strategies for Sustainable Development
Abstract: Heat stress poses a critical threat to dairy production, particularly in resource-constrained systems prevalent across tropical and subtropical regions. Elevated ambient temperatures, compounded by high humidity, directly impair feed intake, milk yield, reproductive efficiency, and overall animal welfare. In low-resource settings, conventional cooling technologies such as automated fans, sprinklers, and climate-controlled housing remain economically inaccessible. Therefore, cost-effective, locally adaptable, and sustainable solutions are essential for maintaining productivity and animal health. …

Nature-Integrated Day-Care Spaces: Fostering Early Childhood Growth in Lucknow
Abstract: The physical environment plays a vital role in shaping early childhood experiences, influencing cognitive, emotional, and social development. However, in rapidly urbanizing cities such as Lucknow, children’s exposure to natural environments has become increasingly limited, with most day-care centers confined within enclosed, concrete settings. This study investigates how the integration of natural elements within day-care interiors and outdoor spaces can foster holistic child development and enhance learning outcomes. Emphasizing the …

Biophilic Design as a Bridge Between Applied Vastu and Contemporary Interior Design Practice in Urban Indian Residences
Abstract: The growing disconnect between urban Indian residents and the natural environment has prompted renewed interest in design strategies that restore human–nature connections within indoor spaces. This paper investigates the conceptual and practical convergence between biophilic design—a framework grounded in the innate human affinity for nature—and Vastu, the ancient Indian architectural science that prescribes spatial harmony through alignment with natural forces. Drawing on a qualitative review of existing literature, established biophilic …

Development of Low-GWP Refrigerants for Future Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Applications
Abstract: The growing concern over global warming and the need to mitigate climate change has propelled significant research into the development of low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants for air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Traditional refrigerants, such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), have been widely used in the HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) industry but contribute significantly to global warming due to their high GWP values. As a result, global regulations, including …
