Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of the Dyed Aqueous Ethanol in a single SU-8 based Glass Microfluidic Device integrated with the Arrays of Square Polyimide Micropillars
Abstract: In this work, a single SU-8 based glass microfluidic device is fabricated by the maskless lithography and indirect bonding technique. A particular polyimide layer at the selected portions and the arrays of square polyimide micropillars at the other portions are integrated on the microchannel bottom wall by the maskless lithography. Dyed aqueous ethanol (70% dyed water, 30% ethanol) is prepared as the working liquid in this work. A CMOS camera …

Effect of PMMA Micropillars on the Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of Dyed Aqueous Ethanol in PMMA Microchannels
Abstract: In this work, dyed aqueous ethanol (60% ethanol, 40% dyed water) is prepared as the working liquid. The effect of surface modification on the microfluidic flow of aqueous ethanol is studied in the polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) devices. The effect of surface area to volume ratio on microfluidic flow of aqueous ethanol is also studied. The effect of microfluidic friction on microfluidic flow of aqueous ethanol is also studied. This work will …

Experimental Studies on the Capillary Flow Phenomena in Polyimide Based Glass Microfluidic Devices
Abstract: The polyimide based glass microfluidic devices are fabricated using the maskless lithography. Water is the only working liquid in this work. The effects of micropillar side length, microfluidic friction and surface area to volume ratio on the surface-driven capillary flow of water are studied experimentally. The surface-driven capillary flow of water is slower due to higher microfluidic friction. This work will be useful to control the water inside the microfluidic …

Report on Microfluidic Flow of Dyed Working Liquids inside the Polymeric Devices
Abstract: In this experimental work, a single SU-8 based glass microfluidic device is engineered by the maskless lithography and indirect bonding technique. Also, total nine individual polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) based microfluidic devices are fabricated by maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, and direct bonding technique. Dyed ethylene glycol, dyed ethanol, and dyed aqueous isopropyl alcohol (50% water, 50% IPA) are prepared and used as working liquids to record each surface-driven microfluidic flow. The …

Chemical Processing of SU-8 Photoresist to Record the Surface-Driven Microfluidic Flow of Dyed Working Liquid in the Regime of Fluid Mechanics
Abstract: Chemical processing of negative photoresist SU-8 is performed to fabricate a set of three individualSU-8 based glass microfluidic devices inside the cleanroom laboratory. The major steps of SU-8processing are spin coating using a spin coater, soft baking, ultra-violet (UV) exposure, post exposurebaking, development by SU-8 developer, and hard baking. The indirect bonding for leakage-freesealing is used during hard baking to fabricate the microfluidic devices. Author has prepared thedyed water to …
