Synthesis of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites Incorporating MWCNTS and Graphene: A Study on Dynamic Mechanical Behavior and Cole–Cole Representation
Abstract: Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composites were fabricated using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and graphene as nanofillers through the hand lay-up technique. Two sets of composites were prepared by incorporating MWCNTs and graphene separately into the epoxy resin matrix at varying weight percentages (2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%). Mechanical and viscoelastic properties were evaluated following ASTM standards, and Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) was performed to study their mechanical and …

Effect of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes on Compressive Strength of Concrete
Abstract: The objective of the suggested study was to examine the possible application of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as nano reinforcement to improve concrete's compressive strength. Single-walled carbon tubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon tubes (MWCNTs) are two groups of cylindrical-shaped carbon allotropes known as carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Tests are carried out 7, 14, and 28 days after the MWCNTs are reinforced in M20 grade concrete at 0.02% and 0.025% (by weight …

Characterization of Glass Fiber/Epoxy Laminates Modified with MWCNT–Al₂O₃ Hybrid Nanofillers
Abstract: Enhancing the performance of fibre-reinforced polymer composites increasingly involves the integration of nanoscale additives that can improve strength, toughness, and overall durability. In the present investigation, woven E-glass/epoxy laminates were modified using a hybrid nanofiller system consisting of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) nanoparticles. The two nanomaterials were combined in a 2:4 proportion and introduced into the epoxy matrix at total loadings of 1%, 3%, and 5% …

Polymer-Based Transparent Conductive Composites for Flexible Solar Panel Coatings
Abstract: This study investigates the fabrication and characterization of polymer-based transparent conductive composites (PTCCs) tailored for flexible solar panel coatings using poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) matrices reinforced with silver nanowires (AgNWs), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), and PEDOT:PSS. The composites were synthesized through a solution blending and doctor-blade casting method followed by post-treatments to enhance interfacial bonding and conductivity. Optical transmittance values above 85% were achieved across all composite …

Thermo-Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube-Enhanced Polyimide Composites for Aerospace Thermal Protection Systems
Abstract: Advanced aerospace thermal protection systems (TPS) require multifunctional materials that simultaneously provide high thermal stability, mechanical strength, and reliable electrical performance. Polyimide (PI) is widely used in aerospace structures due to its lightweight design and exceptional thermal durability, yet its low thermal conductivity and insulating behavior limit its effectiveness in heat dissipation and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications. This study addresses these limitations by developing multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-reinforced polyimide …

Experimental Study on Mechanical and Tribological Characterization of Arecanut Shell Fibre Reinforced Composites with MWCNT Nanofillers
Abstract: Natural fiber-reinforced composites (NFRCs) are emerging as sustainable alternatives to conventional synthetic composites due to their eco-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and favorable mechanical properties. This study evaluates the mechanical and tribological performance of Areca Nutshell Fiber (ANSF)-reinforced epoxy composites with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as nanofillers. The composites were fabricated using the vacuum bag molding technique. Tensile tests assessed strength, modulus, and elongation, while flexural tests evaluated bending resistance. Pin-on-disc tests examined …

Solar-Responsive Photo-Thermal Polymer Composites with Carbon Nanostructures for On-Demand Water Purification
Abstract: The development of solar-responsive polymer nanocomposites offers a sustainable pathway for water purification. In this work, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were fabricated and systematically investigated for their mechanical, thermal, viscoelastic, and thermal transport properties. Neat PVA displayed moderate tensile strength (~38 MPa) and high elongation (~165%), whereas 1.0 wt% nanofiller loading enhanced tensile strength to ~52 MPa and modulus to …

Evaluation of CI Engine Performance and Emissions Using WB10CNT90: A CNT-Reinforced Biodiesel Blend Approach and its Marketing Prospects for sustainable fuel Commercialization
Abstract: The experimental and analytical evaluation of the WB10CNT90 blend—a combination of 10% waste biodiesel derived from Madhuca longifolia, 90% conventional diesel, and 100 ppm Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs)—demonstrates its potential as an efficient and eco-friendly alternative to conventional diesel. The Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE) of the engine increased by approximately 15%, indicating enhanced energy conversion efficiency during combustion. Simultaneously, the Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) showed a reduction of nearly …

Experimental Exploration of Crack and Damage Dynamics of Hybrid FRP Nano Composites
Abstract: Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites have become essential materials in modern engineering structures because of their excellent strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and adaptability in design. Among different fracture modes, Mode I interlaminar fracture where cracks propagate under tensile opening stresses is one of the most critical forms of damage in layered composites. Since delamination occurs within the matrix-rich regions between plies, improving the matrix properties plays a key role in enhancing …
