Innovative Approaches to Reactive Power Management and Optimization in Modern Power systems
Abstract: Reactive power management and optimization are necessary for the effective, stable, and reliable working of modern power systems. Without proper management, reactive power is responsible for additional losses in transmission, reduced capability of power transfer, and poor voltage stability conditions, thus forming a basis for developing advanced techniques of optimization. This paper discusses the innovative methods in Reactive Power Optimization (RPO) using met heuristic algorithms, namely the Self-Balanced Differential Evolution …

Semiempirical Modeling and Docking Studies of Pyrrole-2-Carboxaldehyde Schiff Bases
Abstract: Docking stimulation of antimicrobial compound SB7 against the active site of Mandelate racemase has been accomplished. This compound was engaged in various types of interactions with the binding site residues. Further, molecular modeling of all the target compounds was performed using MOPAC 2016 and various parameters were identified. SB1, SB2 and SB5 were found to be most stable compounds and had highest dipole moment. The compound SB8 came out to …

A Vision to Reduce Orthodontic Treatment Duration
Abstract: There is an increased tendency for researchers to specialise in accelerating methods for tooth movement; thanks to the greater demand of adults for a shorter treatment duration. Long treatment time has many disadvantages such as higher predisposition to caries, gingival recession and root resorption; this increases the demand to increase tooth movement with the least possible disadvantages. Many techniques have been introduced for accelerating the tooth movement. Thus, accelerating orthodontic …

Evolutionary Optimization in MPS: A Brief Review
Abstract: Master production scheduling (MPS) is a combinatorial optimization problem that arises frequently in real-life applications. Because of the complexity and the vast search space, conventional optimization methods such as mathematical programming, dynamic programming and branch-and-bound technique are computationally infeasible. Evolutionary approach-based meta-heuristics have gained prominence in recent years for solving multi-objective optimization problems (MOP). Multi-objective evolutionary approaches (MOEAs) have substantial success across a variety of real-world engineering applications. The present …
