Temperature dependence of Schmidt number of composite material based liquid lithium
Abstract: This work presents a simple formalism for Schmidt number and its temperature dependence for liquid lithium. It is explained that the temperature dependence of Schmidt number (Sc = η/ ρD) can be understood through dependence of topological-short-range-order (TSRO) parameter on temperature. Expression for Schmidt number has been deduced in terms of average potential energy US of superficial core, probability of diffusional displacement (P) and the TSRO parameter (x) . Calculations …

CFD Analysis of Double Diffusion Rotating Flow in a Cylindrical Annular MHD Braking System with Joules Heating and Dufour Effects
Abstract: The present study has investigated Joules parameter significance on an axisymmetric whirling flow within a cylindrical annulus, specifically focusing on an MHD braking system. The cylindrical annulus braking system is packed lithium lid liquid (Pr = 0.015), aspect ratio = 2, and imposed to an axial heat and magnetic field. In this study, the modified MAC pressure correction method has been used to solve the mixed convection flow with double …

Comparative Cooling Analysis of EV Battery Packs using MATLAB Simscape
Abstract: Since electric vehicles (EVs) transition to high- voltage systems to enable quicker charging and enhanced delivery of power, the high heat emitted during rapid discharge is a significant challenge. This paper presents a direct comparative study of passive air cooling and active liquid cooling of a lithium-ion battery pack. Due to the high cost of constructing the physical prototypes, we created a computationally efficient and hierarchical virtual prototype in MATLAB …

Triple Fire Shield for EV Batteries: Prevention, Mitigation and Design Innovations
Abstract: The paper introduces the Triple Fire Shield, a threefold approach aiming to improve the safety and reliability of electric vehicle batteries. Overcharging, overheating, or physical damage to battery can lead to thermal runaway which in turn lead to fire. Due to this, introduction of a safety strategy is necessary for ensuring the protection of the passenger. Prevention of thermal runaway is achieved through temperature management methods such as Battery Management …
