  Abstract: Hydroxy napthoquinone derivatives constitute an interesting group of ligands which is recognized as ‘Juglones’. Isomeric Lawsone-Juglone and Phthiocol-Plumbagin are the most important members of the Juglone series and are biologically active, having natural origin. They form isomeric pairs of ligands resulting into isomeric pairs of metal chelates. The isomerism is occurring due to formation of either five or six membered rings in the metal chelates.
