Efficacy of Combination Therapy with Osimertinib and Afatinib in epidermal growth factor receptor-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer Patients
Abstract: Treatment options for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer who have epidermal growth factor receptor mutations are constrained by the emergence of resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Osimertinib or afatinib alone, when tested in a laboratory model, led to the formation of drug-resistant clones harboring epidermal growth factor receptor secondary mutations. However, combining these drugs prevented the emergence of such mutations. In a Phase II clinical trial, …

Abstract: An infection is the detrimental colonization of a host organism by a foreign species. About 15 million (>25%) of 57 million annual deaths worldwide are estimated to be related directly to infectious diseases. The burden of morbidity (ill health) and mortality associated with infectious diseases falls most heavily on people in developing countries and particularly on infants and children diseases. Infectious diseases are the second leading cause of death; the …

Growth Related Production of Poly-ß-Hydroxybutyrate by Azotobacter chroococcum Soil Isolate/Mutant using N, P, and Cane Molasses
Abstract: Soil isolate Azotobacter chroococcum ABR 51 produced a large amount of Poly-ß-Hydroxybutyrate (PHB) during growth in a chemically defined medium using cane molasses as carbon source. Nutritional requirements and cultural conditions for the optimal production of PHB by this strain under laboratory conditions were determined using inorganic, complex organic nitrogen sources, phosphate, and cane molasses. Among conventional carbon sources, (2% w/v) sucrose was found to be the preferred carbohydrate source …

ALADIN and its Protein Interactions with the Nucleoproteins: An Insilico Analysis
Abstract: The nuclear pore complex (NPCs) are big, protein complexes made up of multiple units that traverse the nuclear envelope (NE), establishing a discerning channel between the cytoplasm and nucleus for the nucleocytoplasmic transport. It has different roles in cellular processes, like cell-cycle progression, control of gene expression, and signal transduction. NPC is a vast and complex structure, compiled from almost 30 proteins, termed nucleoporins. Earlier studies have shown that each …

Biochemical and Biophysical Studies of the Dimerization Process of HIV-RNA Genome
Abstract: HIV infection is correlated with the dimerization of retroviral RNA genomes.Retroviruses are the only known group of viruses that contain two identical (or nearly identical) copies of the RNA genome within the virion. These RNA genomes are non-covalently joined together through a process known as genomic RNA dimerization. Uniquely, the RNA dimerization of the retroviral genome is of crucial importance for efficient retroviral replication. RNA dimerization is the non-covalent process …

Regulation of Gene Expression by Phytochrome
Abstract: AbstractThis review deals with the mechanism of Phytochrome action in regulating the expression of other genes. The PhyA and PhyB genes have the overlapping roles or there must be another Phytochrome species which are involved in the Phytochrome induction of CAB expression in these etiolated seedlings when they are exposed to red light. Double mutation of PhyA and PhyB potentially lowered the level of CAB mRNA in etiolated seedlings of …
