Progression in multi-omics and immunological research on host-parasite interactions: Transcriptomics, proteomics, genomics, metabolomics, and immune responses
Abstract: The interaction occuring between hosts and parasites is a quick and multi step-complex biological process that tries to influence disease outcomes. In recent years, multi-omics approaches, such as transcriptomics, proteomics, genomics, metabolomics, and immunological studies, have gathered substantial eye in dissecting these interactions at a microscopic level. These techniques enable a vast understanding of the molecular structures involved in parasitic infections and host defense mechanisms. This article reviews the advancements …

The Parasitic Fingerprint: Tracing Infection to Host Illness
Abstract: Parasitic infections remain a major global health burden, causing significant morbidity and mortality, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. A critical aspect of disease pathogenesis is the unique molecular and cellular imprint left by parasites in their hosts, termed the “parasitic fingerprint.” These fingerprints encompass parasite-derived proteins, nucleic acids, metabolites, extracellular vesicles, and host responses, including gene expression changes, cytokine profiles, and metabolic adaptations. Advances in multi-omics technologies, which integrate …

The Induction, Formation, and Establishment of Giant Cell in Plant-Parasitic (Meloidogyne Spp.)-Host Interactions: A Molecular and Cellular Basis
Abstract: Root-knot nematodes, (RKN) are obligatory endoparasites of over 3000 plant species, causing $70 billion in annual economic losses globally. The second stage juveniles hatch from the eggs invade the root apex and inject pathogen effectors that induce specialized feeding cell called Giants cell that are large multinucleated cell formed, due to repeated cycles of mitosis without cytokinesis and served sole source of feeding site for rootknot nematode. The ability RNN …

Demodex spp. (Acari: Demodicidae) Infestation in Humans: Diagnostic Clues and Therapeutic Approaches to Primary and Secondary Demodicosis.
Abstract: Demodicosis represents an inflammatory dermatosis and adnexal disorder arising from pathologic overgrowth of Demodex mites, primarily Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis, which are ubiquitous human ectoparasites residing in pilosebaceous units and eyelid margins. Once regarded as benign commensals, these mites are now recognized as primary drivers or key cofactors in diverse clinical phenotypes, including papulopustular eruptions, pityriasis folliculorum, rosacea-like disorders, blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, and exacerbations of comorbid dermatoses such …

Insect Hymnenopteran Parasitoids of Sugarcane Pest and Role As Biological Control Agents
Abstract: The present study is short communication of insect parasitoids belongs to order Hymenoptera. Sugarcane crop attract number of insect pests that flourish on it, and cause about 15- 20% yield loss and minimize the productivity, this reduction in yield increase when the insect parasitoids attack on pest. There are some major parasitoids Orders that attack on the number of crops pest, like Dipteran, Lepidopterans, Neuropteran etc. and one of the …

Parasites and Public Health: Global Challenges and Emerging Insights
Abstract: Parasitic illnesses are still a big problem for health around the world, especially in developing nations where sanitation and access to healthcare are restricted. Protozoa, helminths, and ectoparasites are all types of parasites that can damage many organ systems and cause both short-term and long-term health problems. This article looks at how parasites affect human health in different ways, focussing on common infections including malaria, schistosomiasis, and toxoplasmosis. Parasitic infections …

Host Invasion to Immune Evasion: Emerging Concepts in Pathogen Virulence Strategies
Abstract: Pathogens have evolved a wide repertoire of virulence strategies that allow them to invade host tissues, establish infection, and circumvent immune responses. From the initial steps of adhesion and colonization to complex molecular mimicry, antigenic variation, and immunomodulation, pathogens display remarkable adaptability. While traditional research has emphasized host cell entry and toxin production, emerging evidence highlights subtler and more dynamic strategies such as manipulation of host signaling pathways, subversion of …

The Invisible Engineers: How Viruses Change Cells at the Molecular Level
Abstract: Viruses are frequently thought of as simple parasites, yet at the molecular level, they are quite good at engineering and may change the way the cells they infect work. The Invisible Engineers: How Viruses Rewire Cells at the Molecular Scale looks into how viruses get into host cells, mess up intracellular circuits, and exploit molecular resources to make copies of themselves. This article talks about how viral proteins and nucleic …

Medically Important Hemiptera: Bed Bugs and Kissing Bugs in Human Health.
Abstract: Bed bugs (family Cimicidae) and kissing bugs (subfamily Triatominae) are hematophagous Hemiptera of major medical importance, yet they differ markedly in their public health impact. Bed bugs have resurged globally over the past three decades, with infestations reported from homes, multi-unit housing, hotels, transportation, and healthcare facilities in both high and low-income settings. They are not established biological vectors of human pathogens, but their bites cause pruritic papules, urticarial, and …
