Nanocrystalline Silver: Synthesis by High-Energy Ball Milling, X-ray Debye Temperature Analysis, and Diverse Applications
Abstract: This research paper presents a comprehensive investigation into transforming micro-sized silver (Ag) powder into nanostructured Ag powder by applying high-energy ball milling. The ball milling process was executed over a total duration of 20 hours, with periodic sampling every 4 hours to monitor the evolving characteristics of the material. The particle size, lattice strain, Debye-Waller factor, and root mean square amplitudes of vibration were calculated by using X-ray powder diffraction …

Mechanical Properties of MWCNT Reinforced Aluminium Nano Composites Synthesized Through Powder Metallurgy
Abstract: Multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) reinforced aluminium nano composites were synthesized using powder metallurgy technique and then cold extruded as secondary process. CNTs were added by 0.5wt%, 1wt%, 1.5wt% with aluminium powders and ball milled to obtain homogeneous mixture. The effects of carbon nano tubes (CNTs) on the mechanical properties of Al were investigated. The effect of mixing through ball milling, sintering temperature and extrusion process on the microstructure is explored. …

Fabrication and Characterization of Magnesium Matrix Nanocomposites Reinforced with Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes
Abstract: Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs)-reinforced magnesium nanocomposites were fabricated through powder metallurgy route and then hot extruded as secondary process. CNTs were added by 0.5, 1 and 1.5 wt% with magnesium powders and ball milled to obtain a homogeneous mixture. The effect on mechanical properties of Mg nanocomposites due to the reinforcement of MWCNTs was investigated. The effect of mixing through high-energy ball milling, sintering temperature and extrusion process on the …

Minimizing the Synthesis Time of Nanostructured Powders in Planetary Mills using Biogeography-based Optimization (BBO) Algorithm
Abstract: A key objective in processing of nanostructured powders via high-energy ball milling is to minimize the synthesis time. This paper presents the application of biogeography-based algorithm for optimization of milling parameters in order to minimize the synthesis time of nanostructured powders in planetary mills. At first a direct relationship between the inverse of the milling time and the power of the planetary mill was established, which allows the validation of …

An Investigation into the VariablesInfluencing the Densification of Spark Plasma Sintered, 40 Weight Percent Ni-Fe Nano Powder
Abstract: The mechanical alloying process that included high-energy ball milling resulted in particle sizes of 25 mm and 80 mm on average for the Ni-Fe alloy that included 40 percent Ni. At room temperature, highenergy planetary ball milling was carried out over timespan ranging from 15 hours to 60 hours. All of the samples were sintered at the same conditions, which included a temperature of 650 degrees Celsius and a pressure …
