An Investigation on Influence of Gamma Irradiation and Doping on Chemical Structure and Optical Properties of Conducting Polypyrrole
Abstract: In this study the authors report on effect of gamma irradiation and doping (bromine, iodine and sulfate ion) on chemical structure and optical, electronic properties of poly pyrrole. Optical absorption spectrum of PPY shown absorption bands centered around 36.2.5nm (peak 1), 450 nm (peak2) and 525 nm (peak 3) positions Gamma irradiation resulted in broaden of peak A together with a band shift of 45- 525 nm and disappearance peaks …

Gamma Irradiation Effects on Structural and Optical Properties of PVA/Al₂O₃/TiC Polymer Nanocomposites for Optoelectronic Applications
Abstract: PVA/TiC/Al2O3 nanocomposite (PTA) films were successfully prepared via the solution casting method. The impact of high-dose gamma (γ) irradiation (30 kGy) on the structural and optical properties of PVA/TiC/Al2O3 nanocomposites was systematically explored using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV–Visible spectroscopy. XRD analysis confirmed the semi-crystalline nature of the nanocomposites, which was found to decrease upon incorporation of Al₂O₃ nanoparticles and exposure to …

Effect of Gamma and Electron Beam Irradiations on Crystalline and Gelatinization Properties of Edible Potato Starch
Abstract: Exposure of food material to radiation causes changes in crystalline (damage of crystal structure / lattice distortion), and gelatinization (digestive)properties. Potato starch (PS) is one of the important globally used food supplement in different forms like chips, curries, cusins etc. During its use the PS is exposed to radiations, altering its molecular structure (due to chain cleavages) and bring changes in structural and physical properties ; sometimes ill – effects …

Protective Effects of Phellinus linteus Polysaccharides Against Radiation-Induced Hematopoietic Damage in Bone Marrow of Mice
Abstract: Chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which are standard methods of treatment for various cancers, often result in suppression of hematopoiesis accompanied by reduction in the number of hematopoietic stem cells and their progeny. We investigated a clinically potential use of Phellinus linteus polysaccharide in the treatment of various cytopenias induced by radiotherapy. Mice were administered Phellinus linteus polysaccharide orally at a dosage of 100 mg/kg once daily for + consecutive days, …

Effect of Radiation Dose, Dose Rate and Annealing Temperature on Edible Potato Starch by Spectroscopic Methods
Abstract: Potato starch (PS) is a favorite food choice in different forms. During its storage and applications the PS is exposed to different radiations. In the present study the authors attempt to compare radiation effects (gamma and Electron beam of same radiation dose) in PS by Electron spin resonance (ESR) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) methods. ESR spectra of gamma irradiated PS appeared to have resolved shapes than the electron beam …
