Evaluating the Mechanical Attributes of Flexible Polyurethane Foam Produced at Various Pressures
Abstract: This study explores the impact of different pressures (1atm and 0.75atm) on the mechanical characteristics of flexible polyurethane foam, employing varied compositions (0 - 40ppw) of CaCO3. Foam production occurred under two distinct pressure conditions: vacuum pressure and atmospheric conditions. Mechanical properties, including durability, compression set, resilience, support factor, elongation, hysteresis loss, bounce characteristics (including number of bounces), hardness, thickness loss value, elongation percentage, and tear resistance strength, were quantified …

Low density polyurethane based antistatic coating for PU flexible foam for launch vehicles
Abstract: Polyurethane (PU) is a multi functional polymer prepared by using more than two types of monomers. The unique properties of PU come from monomers, thus broadening the applicability of PU in many different sectors. Furthermore, the antistatic property of PU coatings can be improved by the addition of conductive fillers into matrix thus broadening its application in the manufacture of electronic products, aerospace systems and daily necessities and so on. …

A Review of Fire Retardants for Commercially Important Polyurethane Foams
Abstract: The review covers various additive and reactive fire retardants used to render flexible and rigid polyurethane foams fire retardant. Literature sources are mostly from technical publications, patents, books and handbooks since 1962. Various fire retardants such as phosphorus-containing compounds, halogen-containing compounds, nitrogen-containing additives, silicone-containing products and miscellaneous organic and inorganic additives have been used to render polyurethane foams fire retardant. Some heatresistant groups such as carbodiimide, isocyanurate and nitrogen-containing heterocycles …
