Superplasticity Behavior of Aluminium Alloys Through FSP: A Review
Abstract: Friction Stir Processing (FSP), an advanced modification of Friction Stir Welding (FSW), has emerged as a highly effective technique for fabricating surface composites with superior mechanical and metallurgical properties. FSP enhances the microstructure and superplastic behavior of materials, particularly aluminium alloys, by subjecting them to high strain rates at relatively low temperatures. This review paper critically examines the development and optimization of FSP for aluminium alloys, emphasizing key factors such …

Wear Attribute of Aluminium Metal Matrix Composite Reinforced With MWCNT, Produced By FSP, On A Vertical Milling Machine
Abstract: The exceptional properties of Aluminium metal matrix composites (AMMCs) like good hardness, specific strength, enhanced wear rate made huge demand in the automobile and aerospace industries. The classical methods of manufacturing AMMCs leave problems at the interface of matrix and reinforcement segregation, like an agglomeration of reinforcements, wettability etc. To overcome this, an alternate, innovative method of fabricating aluminium matrix surface composites has been invented, which is termed friction stir …

A Study on Friction Stir Processing Effected on Hardness and Tensile Properties When Single Pass and Double Pass Is Considered Using Al 6061 And Steel Material
Abstract: The principle of friction stir welding was initially employed to build the emerging technology known as friction stir processing, or FSP. FSP has shown to be a successful method of developing face mixes and increasing the material's mechanical parcels. Aluminum blends are among those accoutrements over which the FSP can be performed successfully. The study comprised the careful processing of steel and Al 6061 samples using both single and double …

Investigation of microstructure and mechanical properties of multi-pass friction stir processing on precipitation hardened aluminum alloy
Abstract: In the present study, multi-pass friction stir processing of aluminum AA2014-T651 alloy is per-formed with one and four passes. The multi-pass processing is performed at a tool rotational speed of 1000 rpm with a traverse speed of 63 mm/min. Microstructural characterization of fric-tion stir processed specimens indicated a significant grain refinement with equiaxed grains in the four pass specimen. Microhardness and tensile strength of the multi-pass specimen decreases with the …

Investigation and Concerns on the Mechanics Behind Grain Refinement During ECAP Operation with Applications to Polymers
Abstract: Materials science and engineering have studied Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) grain refining. This abstract discusses important findings and concerns about grain refining mechanics during ECAP.A adaptable severe plastic deformation method; ECAP refines grain patterns in many metallic materials. Many researches have attempted to understand this phenomenon's complex mechanisms. Microhardness and microstructure (morphology) of AL alloy increase with the increase in pass numbers. It is observed that the mechanical property …

Analysis of Friction Stir Welding Utilizing ANSYS: A Study Based on Simulation
Abstract: Friction Stir Welding (FSW) represents a sophisticated solid-state welding methodology that has attracted considerable scholarly attention due to its efficacy in amalgamating high-strength, lightweight substrates including aluminium, magnesium, and titanium alloys. FSW enables the fabrication of defect free products with a substantial amount of mechanical and wear properties. The process is highly sensitive to various parameters that significantly influence the quality and strength of the final product. Studies have shown …
