Performance Investigation of OLSR and AODV Routing Protocols for 3 D FANET Environment using NS3
Abstract: Flying Ad Hoc Network is the most suitable and most emerging research topic in the field of wireless communication. Flying ad-hoc network (FANET) is a special class of MANET that provides the communication among small flying drone called UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicle) enable with camera, sensor and communication system. FANET has wide area of applications like reconnaissance and surveillance for military and civil purposes. FANETs along with its special features …

Routing Protocols in FANETs with Future Enhancements
Abstract: Flying Ad Hoc Networks (FANETs), which are swarms of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), are an emerging solution which revolutionized the area of mission-critical and infrastructure-less communication systems. These networks provide real-time data transfer for use cases such as disaster relief, battlefield observation, environmental monitoring, and 6G-based smart cities. However, the dynamic profile of FANETs, which is defined by high 3D mobility, limited energy resources, unstable wireless links, and constant topology …

Do Networks Fly: A Review on FANET
Abstract: During the previous decades, a lot of work has been done on UAVs due to advancement in the electronics, sensor fields which makes UAVs less costly. UAVs are a component of UAS, which include a UAV, a ground-based controller, and a system of communications between the two. To cope up with the problem of disaster recovery efficiently there is a need to use an intelligent and sophisticated technology called flying …

Performance Analysis of Flying Ad Hoc Network with Different Antennas Using Ricean Fading
Abstract: AbstractWith regards to FANET, utilization of directional antenna can to a great extent decrease the radio interference, in this way enhancing the use of wireless medium and thus the system throughput. Execution of FANET is low under the omnidirectional antenna system contrasted with smart antenna system when Ricean fading model is utilized. Directional antenna covers huge zone and transmits extensive no. of packets, since it centers in the desired direction …

Recent Routing Protocols in UAV Networks: Classifications, Challenges, and Future Directions
Abstract: Routing protocols enable reliable communication in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) networks, particularly Flying Ad-hoc Networks (FANETs), amid high-speed 3D mobility, dynamic topologies, and energy limits. Key challenges include intermittent links due to mobility, limited energy resources, variable network density, and the need to minimize end-to-end delay while maximizing throughput and fault tolerance. This paper classifies recent UAV routing protocols into topology-based routing protocols, position-based routing protocols, and hierarchical-based routing protocols. …

Performance Evaluation of Multiple Data Rates Flying Ad Hoc Networks Using Rayleigh Fading
Abstract: AbstractAn exertion has been made to delineate the execution of the Rayleigh fading channel models by utilizing QualNet test system as far as QoS parameters are concerned. A situation has been created here for the Rayleigh fading channels with different parameters. The parameters such as data rate and speed of nodes play very important role in the performance analysis and design of the flying ad hoc network over the multipath …

Performance Analysis of Flying Ad-Hoc Network Over cloud with Variation of Protocal with Variation of Antenna of Flying Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAVs
Abstract: Flying Ad-hoc Networks (FANETs) consist of a collection of Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAVs) dynamically forming a temporary network without the use of any existing infrastructure or centralized administration. In this paper the impact of variation of different protocolwith variation antenna of air vehicle over clouds is investigated. For this purpose Qualnet6.1 simulator has been used and the performance of FANETby varying different protocol and with different antenna has been evaluated. …
