Enhancing the Performance of Evacuated Tube Heat Pipe Solar Collector Using CuO Nanofluid
Abstract: Renewable energy is an important component of sustainable development technologies that meet current demands without risking future generations' ability to meet their own. Due to fast expanding energy consumption and environmental concerns, many international scholars are seeking an alternate approach to fulfill future energy demand. Due to its abundance and pure nature, solar energy appears to be the most enticing option in this case. Because of their ease of use, …

Solar Thermal Energy Utilization: Design Innovations and Performance Enhancement Techniques
Abstract: The utilization of solar thermal energy has become increasingly significant in the pursuit of sustainable and low-carbon energy solutions. Unlike photovoltaic technologies that directly convert sunlight into electricity, solar thermal systems focus on harnessing solar radiation to generate heat, which can then be applied to diverse sectors such as water heating, space conditioning, industrial process heating, and power generation. In recent years, substantial research efforts have been directed toward enhancing …

Study of technical and economic assessment of solar-assisted and thermoelectric air-conditioning technologies
Abstract: This study presents an integrated technical and economic assessment of solar-assisted absorption and thermoelectric air-conditioning technologies for residential cooling applications. A comprehensive methodology combining mathematical modelling, experimental characterization of thermoelectric modules, numerical simulation, and economic optimization was developed to evaluate the performance of both cooling systems. The solar-assisted system employs single-effect LiBr–H₂O absorption chillers operating under water-cooled and air-cooled configurations, simulated using TRNSYS and Engineering Equation Solver (EES), while the …

Performance Investigation of Evacuated Tube Solar Heating System: A Review
Abstract: The solar energy is the most abundant and eco-friendly source of energy on earth. It is the most readily available source of renewable energy on the earth; the earth receives millions of watt of energy per day which is coming in the form of solar radiation. Solar energy is captured by several conventional and new type of solar collectors of which the evacuated solar collector is the most efficient and …

Comprehensive Thermal and Environmental Investigation of An Enhanced Evacuated Tube Solar Water Heater with Wavy Tape and Latent Heat Storage
Abstract: Evacuated tube solar collectors (ETSCs) are widely used for thermal energy applications; however, enhancing their thermal and exergetic efficiency remains a challenge. This study investigates performance enhancements through structural and material alterations. Four ETSC cases were tested experimentally, case-1: a standard ETSC, case-2: Wavy tape (WT) inserted ETSC, case-3: Phase change material (PCM) integrated ETSC, and case-4: Dual-Enhanced ETSC (PCM + WT). A binary eutectic PCM was utilized for latent …

Parametric Study of a Solar Heat Driven Silica Gel–Water Paired Adsorption Chiller
Abstract: Heat driven sorption based cooling systems are gaining interest as they are environmentally friendly and have the potential to save precious fossil fuel resources. Low grade thermal sources like solar or waste heat can run a silica gel-water paired adsorption chiller to generate chilled water below 10°C. However, the performance of the adsorption chillers is poor when compared to vapour absorption or vapour compression based cooling systems. An effort has …
