Performance Analysis of Proximity Coupled Microstrip Patch Antenna with DGS and EBG
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to analyze the effect of Defected Ground Structure (DGS) in a Proximity Coupled Microstrip Patch Antenna (PCMA) and the effectiveness of using this structure in a PCMA with an Electromagnetic Bandgap Structure (EBG). The EBG structure used is a metallo-dielectric structure having a printed metallization with connected via ground plane. This manoeuvering of EBG enabled PCMA with a dumbbell shaped DGS results in a …

Compact Microstrip Band-pass Filter Using Open-loop Square Shaped DGS
Abstract: This paper presents to implement a compact microstrip band-pass filter with open-loop square dumbbell-shaped defected ground structure (DGS). This filter is designed at 2.1 GHz center frequency. The prototype filter is with defected ground structure to provide higher order quasi-elliptic filtering and it reports the return loss of 39 dB with a 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 880 MHz. The bandwidth of the band-pass filter can be easily controlled by …

Wideband Bandstop Filter Using Triangular SRR-DGS
Abstract: This article presents a dumbbell shaped triangular split ring resonator (SRR) in the design of wideband bandstop filter. Initially, a conventional dumbbell shaped triangular defective ground structure (DGS) is used to realize the single bandstop filters at the frequency of 3.55 GHz. This triangular shaped DGS structure is modified to a new structure to realize a wideband bandstop filter characteristics with the frequency range of 3.3 to 4.5 GHz which …

Design and Analysis of Microstrip Band Stop Filter with Modified Circle and Dumbbell Shape Ground Structure
Abstract: In this proposed paper the performance of Band stop filter with modified ground structure is analyzed in this specific work; the modified ground structure includes a circle and dumbbell etched shapes in ground plane. Parameters of the proposed configuration were calculated at the cut off frequencies of f1=1 GHz, f2=1.62GHz and also proposed designs having substrate height of 1.6 mm, loss tangent of 0.02 and dielectric constant of 4.4. Results …
