Comparative studies of Oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of uncoated and detonation gun sprayed Cr3C2-25NiCr coating on SA-213 boiler steel at 8000C
Abstract: Fe-based alloys suffer oxidation and hot corrosion when the surfaces were in contact with air (oxidation) as well as the salty atmosphere (Hot corrosion) at elevated temperatures. In these atmospheric conditions, non-protective oxide Fe2O3 was formed on the surface of alloys. Oxidation and hot corrosion have been recognized as a major problem in the applications of the diesel engine, boilers, gas turbines, and chemical power plant etc. Detonation-gun sprayed Cr3C2-25NiCr …

Dry Sliding Wear Behavior of Al2O3-TiO2 Coated Ti6Al4V Alloy based on Taguchi Method
Abstract: AbstractTi6Al4V alloys are extensively used as implant material for bio-medical applications due to their high specific strength. But, their poor wear resistance results in formation of wear debris in implants and causing soreness. In this work, Al2O3-TiO2 coatings were applied to improve the wear resistance and hardness. Al2O3-TiO2 coatings are deposited on the substrate with 100, 200, 300, 400 µm thickness using detonation spray (DS). Pin on disc wear tests …

Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Cr3C2-NiCr Coated Ti6Al4V Implant Alloy
Abstract: Ti6Al4V alloys are widely used in medical and aerospace applications due to their superior mechanical properties. But, Ti6Al4V alloys are poor in tribological properties such as wear. Poor wear resistance consequences in the formation of wear debris in human implants and leads to inflammation and pain. In this work, Cr3C2-NiCr coatings were applied to improve the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness and tribological properties such as wear resistance. …

Analysis of Oxidation Behavior on T-22 Boiler steel at 800°C
Abstract: The behavior of boiler steel T-22 in a rich air environment has been studied under the condition of isothermal at 800°C for 50 cycles in a cyclic manner. The kinetics of oxidation was established for boiler steel T-22under cyclic conditions for 50 cycles by weight change technique per unit area. Each cycle heating the sample at 1 hour followed by cooling 20 minutes at ambient temperature. Detonation gun spray techniques …
