Abstract: The burgeoning demand for global connectivity and communication has intensified the exploration of novel networking paradigms, especially in remote or challenging environments where traditional methods fall short. One such innovative approach is delay-tolerant networking (DTN), a technology specifically engineered to work in scenarios where standard networking is unreliable, frequently disrupted, or suffers from considerable delays. This study focuses on the application of DTN in satellite networking, a domain characterized by …

A Review on Routing in Delay Tolerant Network
Abstract: DTN (Delay-Tolerant Networking) is a technique in PC system development that looks into the location, specialized matters in heterogeneous systems that may need consistent system integration. Delay-tolerant networking is possible only on the systems with colossal amounts of nearby stockpiling and internodes data transmission with respect to the expected activity. Use of DTN incorporates vehicular systems and sensor organizes in rural and rustic territories. This paper incorporates the diverse conventions, …

A Grade Based Scheme to Detect Malicious Nodes in Delay Tolerant Networks
Abstract: DTN is a network in which no direct contacts are present between network nodes. For data packet transmission in network, concept of intermediate nodes is used. Data transmission through intermediate nodes is not secure because unfortunately some intermediate nodes behave as malicious nodes. So security in DTN is a challenging task. Different types of malicious nodes perform different kind of attacks during data transmission. In this paper, present a grade …

Contact-Based Routing to Improve Delivery Ratio in DTN
Abstract: Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) are a new development in network research field. DTNs are the networks where no end-to-end paths are present between nodes for a long period of time. DTNs are wireless networks where disconnections and delays are high. DTN works on the principle of store, carry, forward mechanism. A store, carry, forward mechanism is a mechanism in which when a node receives a packet then it stores in …

Issue and Analysis of Delay Torrent Networks
Abstract: Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are basically ad hoc networks where end to end connectivity is not available for transmission of a message. Application of the DTN would be high latency application where message tranmission on time is not important, that can be hours or weeks. A delay-tolerant network is a network designed to operate effectively over extreme distances such as those encountered in space communications or on an interplanetary scale. …

A Survey on Various Security Issues in Delay Tolerant Networks
Abstract: Security is one of the major threats in Delay tolerant network (DTN). The DTN communication takes place when if it is in the range of communication. Hence due to this shortcoming there exists possibility of dropping the delivered messages by the selfish or malicious nodes, which result to attacks. Various security attacks such as; black hole, wormhole, grey hole etc. effect the network connectivity as well as increase the delay. …

Cooperation Based Mechanism to Contrast Black Hole Attack in DTN
Abstract: AbstractDelay tolerant network (DTN) has intermittent node connectivity and nodes are highly mobile. Most often DTN behaves abnormally due to the presence of various malicious nodes and because of challenging environment they try to gain the benefit of presenting itself as a normal node. In this thesis, we focused on black hole attack. A black hole node silently removes or drops the packets without acknowledging the source and destination. When …

A Threshold Based Scheme to Detect Black Hole Attack in DTN
Abstract: Security in DTN is a challenging task. Numbers of misbehaving attacks are present in the network. In this paper we focus on Black Hole attack with the problem of misbehaving and propose a solution based on the concept of threshold and validation. Each node maintains a local value called status of node. A node “status” is the delivery probability of nodes so doing, a misbehaving node is not chosen even …

Increased Message Delivery Using Improved PRoPHET Routing Technique in VDTN
Abstract: AbstractVehicular Delay Tolerant network (VDTN) is new challenging field of Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) concept. In VDTN, nodes (vehicles) use the pattern of store, carry and forward to communicate each other. Due to high deviations in density, no end-to-end connectivity and discontinuous network, the traffic is sparse. In VDTN, due to less contact duration occurs between the nodes (vehicles), the routing is very difficult and challenging. Our new approach, improvement …

Enhanced Security for Autonomous Mobile Mesh Networks Using Crypto Algorithm
Abstract: Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are ideal for situations where a fixed infrastructure is unavailable or infeasible. Today’s MANETs, however, may suffer from network partitioning. This limitation makes MANETs unsuitable for applications such as crisis management and battlefield communications, in which team members might need to work in groups scattered in the application terrain. In such applications, inter-group communication is crucial to the team collaboration. To address this weakness introduce …

Review on DTN Routing Families
Abstract: Delay tolerant network are a class of emerging networks that experiences periodic and long duration changes. Compared with the traditional network, the feature which separate DTN with other networks is that there is no end to end communication path between source node and destination node. The network topology changes vigorously and non-presence of an end to end connectivity posses many challenges in the routing protocol. The routing protocols are broadly …
