Parametric Studies of Natural Dyes in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells
Abstract: Natural dyes used in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are low cost viable substitute to high cost ruthenium dyes because of its easy availability and no environment threat. Parametric studies of natural dyes in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are essential for optimizing the performance of these renewable energy devices. One kind of thin-film solar cell called a DSSC uses organic dyes to absorb sunlight and turn it into electrical energy. …

Dye Sensitized Solar Cells Based on Extracted Natural Dyes and Synthetic Dyes with Nanocomposite Material
Abstract: Producing dye sensitised solar cells in their original colours required a number of different techniques. Plants and berries were used to extract these dyes. The DSSCs were manufactured by recycling the old dyes. It was clear that the efficiency of the power conversion was deteriorating. TiO2 mesoporous films' potential applications were also studied. This study employed electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to examine the interactions of natural dyes with TiO2. Bi2O3 nanoparticles …

Comparative Assessment of Polymers and Composites for Solar Panels: Fundamentals, Performance Metrics, Manufacturing, and Sustainability
Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive review of the main types of Photo Voltaic polymers and composites such as crystalline silicon (both mono- and poly-Si), thin-film tech (CdTe, CIGS, a-Si), perovskites, and organic/dye-sensitized cells and analyses the parameters such as efficiency, fill factor, open-circuit voltage, temperature response, and degradation. The analysis focusses on polymers and composites and manufacturing techniques like vapor deposition, roll-to-roll printing, and both solution and vapor techniques for …

Semiconducting Materials for Emerging Electronics and Technological Applications
Abstract: Semiconducting materials are important for emerging electronic and photovoltaic technologies because their structural, optical and electrical properties can be tailored for specific device applications. In this study, a TiO₂-based composite photoanode is considered as a polymer-assisted semiconducting thin-film system in which inorganic TiO₂ nanoparticles are processed with organic film-forming components to produce a porous layer for dye-sensitised solar cell application. Nanocrystalline TiO₂ nanoparticles were synthesised from titanium isopropoxide using a …
