Development of a Durable Superhydrophobic EP/PDMS Coating Reinforced with Micro-CaCO₃ and Nano-ZnO for Enhanced Corrosion Protection and Multifunctional Performance on Carbon Steel
Abstract: Balancing exceptional multifunctional performance with mechanical robustness in micro-nano composite films remains a significant challenge for practical applications. In this work, a superhydrophobic coating reinforced with micro-CaCO₃ and nano-ZnO particles was fabricated through a versatile single-step brushing method. The optimized EP/PDMS@micro-CaCO₃/nano-ZnO coating achieved a water contact angle (WCA) of 173.54° ± 2.53° and a sliding angle (SA) of 1.50° ± 1.12°. Owing to its carefully engineered micro-nano hierarchical structure, the …

Evaluating the Mechanical Attributes of Flexible Polyurethane Foam Produced at Various Pressures
Abstract: This study explores the impact of different pressures (1atm and 0.75atm) on the mechanical characteristics of flexible polyurethane foam, employing varied compositions (0 - 40ppw) of CaCO3. Foam production occurred under two distinct pressure conditions: vacuum pressure and atmospheric conditions. Mechanical properties, including durability, compression set, resilience, support factor, elongation, hysteresis loss, bounce characteristics (including number of bounces), hardness, thickness loss value, elongation percentage, and tear resistance strength, were quantified …

Critical Overview: Preparation of Bioplastics Using Different Reinforcement Fillers
Abstract: The widespread use of synthetic plastics poses a significant threat to the environment due to their nonbiodegradable nature and reliance on nonrenewable petrochemical sources. Among these, single-use plastics are of particular concern as they are difficult to recycle efficiently. To mitigate this issue, bioplastics offer a promising alternative, as they are derived from renewable sources and are biodegradable. Bioplastics are produced using natural materials, such as plant, animal, and microbial …

Study the Rheological and Filtration Properties of Oil-in-Water Emulsion for its Application in Oil and Gas Well Drilling
Abstract: This research article investigates the rheological and filtration properties of oil-in-water emulsion required for oil and gas well drilling. The rheological and filtration properties of the emulsions were enhanced by varying concentrations of xanthan gum and CaCO3. The concentration of diesel oil was varied in the range of 5–30% (v/v). The concentration of xanthan gum was varied in the range of 0.25–1% (w/v) and CaCO3 in the range of 1–4% …
