A Duplex PCR for Simultaneous Detection of Brucella and Bovine Herpesvirus – Genome in Clinical Samples
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 A disease-free germplasm is a prerequisite for getting healthy progeny. Many diseases are transmitted through semen either by natural service or artificial insemination causing reproduction failure and economic losses. The intermittent excretion of Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1) and Brucella in semen and their transmission through artificial insemination has been recorded. PCR has become an invaluable tool because of speed and simplicity with …

Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification Coupled Lateral Flow Assay to Detect Nucleic Acids in Clinical Samples for Brucella Species at Point of Care and Resource-Limited
Abstract: Brucellosis is a most common and neglected zoonotic disease caused by Brucella species. Brucellosis is a major public health challenge as both animals and humans are affected. Most of the Brucella diagnostic tools are focused around serological assays though these assays cannot detect active pathogenesis. Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) coupled with lateral flow assay (LFA) was developed in the present study to detect IS711 gene of Brucella species in the …

Amplification of 16s rRNA Gene of Brucella melitensis Causing Brucellosis Isolated from the Aborted Fetes of Goat
Abstract: ABSTRACTBrucella melitensis is zoonosis caused by facultative intracellular bacteria of genus Brucella, which are widely distributed in both human and animals, especially in developing world. The diagnosis of goat brucellosis requires isolation of the bacteria from stomach contain aborted fetes of goat. However cultural sampling sensitivity often low, depending on the disease stage, Brucella species, culture medium, quantity of circulating bacteria and blood culture technique employed. The development of PCR …

Induction of Specific Cytotoxic Lymphocytes in Goats Vaccinated with Fractionated Antigens of Brucella melitensis 16M
Abstract: The present study investigated the ability of different fractionated antigens of Brucella melitensis 16M to induce cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. For this study, soluble Lipopolysaccharide and outer membrane protein antigens were fractionated by using gel filtration chromatography and found 6, 5 and 5 fractions respectively of each antigen. All the regions of antigens were analyzed for their ability to induce cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. This study investigated that SAG5, LPG1 and OMPG4 induce maximum …

Bacteriophage and its Potential for Therapeutic Use in Brucellosis among Cattles
Abstract: Bacteriophages are viruses that can specifically kill certain bacteria. This property of phages can be exploited for therapeutic application in treating bacterial infections in domestic animals. Brucellosis is an important zoonotic disease which is endemic in several countries. Antibiotics are not very effective against bovine brucellosis and the cost of this treatment is very high. Lytic phages against Brucella have been isolated and have been tried for therapy of bovine …

Seroprevelance of Brucellosis in Goats and Sheeps in Different Regions of India, using B. melitensis Soluble Antigen in Plate-ELISA
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 In present study, we investigated 50 serum samples of goats from CIRG, Makhdoom and 470 serum samples of sheep from an organized animal shed of Northern India. These samples were tested for detection of anti-Brucella antidodies in goats and sheep using plate-ELISA. At total of 24% serum samples (24.4% females and 20% males) from CIRG, Makhdoom and 39.4% serum samples (41.2% …
