Investigation on Mechanical Properties of Bamboo Fibre Reinforced Composites
Abstract: This study investigates the mechanical performance of bamboo fibre-reinforced polymer composites (BFRPCs), emphasizing tensile, flexural, and impact properties. The composites were fabricated using an epoxy resin matrix combined with untreated bamboo fibres in varying fibre contents ranging from 25% to 45%, utilizing the hand lay-up method. Among the tested compositions, the composite with 35% bamboo fibre content exhibited the most favorable mechanical characteristics. It achieved the highest tensile strength of …

Characterization of Bamboo-Fiber Reinforced Geopolymer Composites
Abstract: In this project, we plan to produce and assess a new, eco-friendly composite made from geopolymer (from a combination of fly ash and GGBFS), strengthened with chemically treated bamboo fibres for retrofitting earthquake-resistant buildings. Geopolymer is produced by activating a mixture of fly ash and GGBFS with sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide solutions. We have produced and analyzed bamboo fibre-reinforced geopolymer composites as potential materials for seismic retrofitting of structures …

Functionally Graded Natural Fibre and SiC-reinforced Polymer Composite: Mechanical Properties
Abstract: Multifunctional materials, also called functionally graded materials (FGMs), are based on natural fibres or fillers and vary in composition and/or microstructure to control functional, structural, or thermal, properties. Functionally graded materials (FGMs) have been created for use in spacecraft, aircraft, and other engineering applications because they can withstand extremely high temperatures. Particle-reinforced FGMs, which make up the majority of FGMs, are made differently depending on their position. The mechanical and …

Development And Examination of a Composite Material Reinforced with Natural Bamboo Fiber
Abstract: This work provides a novel replacement for fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) by integrating bamboo fibers into an epoxy matrix. Numerous studies are being conducted in this area to reach the intended standard. This composite exhibits a strong resemblance to synthetic fiber-based composites. This is mainly because to the benefits, which include low cost, biodegradable qualities, easy availability, non-toxicity, non-abrasiveness, and light weight. The representation used for the BFRP was a single …

High-Performance Biodegradable Films from Bamboo Derived Cellulose Nanofibers and Silk Fibroin: Engineering Sustainable Polymer Composites
Abstract: This research presents the advancement of biodegradable composite films from cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) extracted from bamboo and silk fibroin (SF) derived from Bombyx mori cocoons. CNF/SF composites were fabricated in three different compositions—CS10, CS30, and CS50—via aqueous blending and solution casting, followed by ethanol-induced β-sheet stabilization. Mechanical testing confirmed a considerable enhancement in tensile strength from 72 MPa (CS10) to 112 MPa (CS50), while Young’s modulus improved from 2.4 GPa …

Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Jute and Bamboo Natural Fiber Composites
Abstract: Natural fibers have become increasingly popular in recent decades. Natural fiber composites are also becoming increasingly popular in a various industries, including automobiles, furniture, packaging, construction and sports. Natural fibers have several advantages over synthetic fibers, including low cost, low density, reduced damage to processing equipment, good relative mechanical properties, renewability, and biodegradability. Natural fibers were also introduced with the goal of producing lighter composites, and they have shown a …

Effect of hybridization on mechanical Characteristics of hemp, bamboo and jute reinforced epoxy bio composites
Abstract: In the present study, hemp, jute and bamboo fibres have been reinforced with epoxy resin to develop several bio-composites (hemp/epoxy, jute/epoxy, bamboo/epoxy, hemp/jute/epoxy, hemp, bamboo, epoxy and hemp/jute/bamboo/epoxy). Their mechanical characteristics (impact strength, flexural strength, and tensile strength) have been evaluated by conducting standardized ASTM tests on the fabricated bio-composite specimens. Among these, the hybrid epoxy composite reinforced with hemp, jute, and bamboo fibers has exhibited superior tensile and impact …
