Studies on the Insecticidal Activity of Bacillus thuringiensis against Lepidoptera
Abstract: To screen soil isolates of Bacillus thuringiensis from western Ghats for the presence of Cry1A and Cry2A gene using PCR and, the activities of the isolates on Lepidoptera group of insects. For the characterization of the genes the gene are isolated and cloned in to E. coli, its nucleotide sequence is analyzed .Thus in the result, the insecticidal activity of Bacillus thuringiensis with the combinations of cry1A and cry2A genes …

Molecular Methods to Improve the Insecticidal Action of Bacillus thuringiensis in Biotechnology Arena
Abstract: Bacillus thuringiensis (or Bt) is a Gram-positive, soil-dwelling bacterium, frequently used as an organic pesticide. B. thuringiensis also arises naturally in the gut of caterpillars of several kinds of moths and butterflies, as well on foliage surfaces, marine environments, animal feces, insect-rich surroundings, and flour mills and grain-storage facilities. All through sporulation, various Bt strains harvest crystal proteins (proteinaceous inclusions), termed δ-endotoxins, that have insecticidal action. This has led to …

Characterization of Pure and Ag Doped ZnO Nanostructure and Study the Effect of Calcination Temperature on Bacterial Growth of Ag Doped ZnO Nanostructure.
Abstract: Sol-Gel chemical precipitation method has been implemented to synthesize Ag doped ZnO nanoparticles at 50°C. Wurtzite hexagonal crystal structure of pure and ZnO(Ag) nanoparticles have been confirmed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) data. The crystalline size and have been estimated using XRD data. The chemical composition of pure and Ag doped ZnO nanoparticles has been investigated by analysis of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The direct band gap of nanoparticles has …

Isolation and Characterization of Gelatinase Producing Halophilic Bacteria from the Sediments of Pichavaram Mangrove Forest, Tamil Nadu State, South India
Abstract: Microorganisms are the most important sources for production of enzyme especially bacteria which have the ability to synthesis gelatinase enzyme has been screened and isolated from Pichavaram mangrove forest soil. This enzyme is capable of degrading gelatin and collagen proteins. The organism was isolated from the mangrove sediments; the genomic DNA was extracted, amplified by 785F and 907R primers, sequenced and identified. Gelatinase producing organism was identified as Bacillus thuringiensis. …
