SIMULATION OF COLD DIE COMPACTION ALUMINA POWDER
Abstract: Compaction process was analyzed mathematically by predicting a steady-state mathematical model in order to give more description and understanding for the mechanism of this process. Numerical investigation has been carried out on axisymmetric cylindrical parts using the finite difference method with relaxation technique to examine the physical significance of constitutive model to produce the pressure gradients during compaction. The pressure distribution model is then typically coupled with empirical functions relating …

Synthesis, Characterization of Mesoporous Zeolite BEA and Its Application in Multicomponent Reactions
Abstract: Strongly acidic mesoporous zeolite beta (MZB or Beta/MCM-41composite) with bimodal pore structure and stepwise distributed acidity has been synthesized by novel route using zeolite BEA as silica-alumina source. The material was characterized by various techniques. Powder XRD showed the existence of well-structured microphase zeolite Beta and mesophase MCM-41 in the composite materials. The performance of the composite material as a catalyst was investigated for the synthesis of various biologically active …

Processing and Mechanical Characterization of Compression-Molded Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Polyethylene Biocomposite Reinforced with Aluminum Oxide
Abstract: Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) has been widely used as a bone implant material in orthopedic surgical applications in trauma due to its low coefficient of friction, good biocompatibility, and excellent wear and corrosion resistance properties in comparison to other polyolefins. But, due to the formation of wear debris, implants loosen and fail after 12–15 years of implantation. In order to enhance lifespan, the role of alumina (Al2O3) reinforcement on …

Wear and Tribological Characteristics of Novel Metal Matrix Composites
Abstract: The development of advanced metal matrix composites (MMCs) with enhanced tribological performance has become increasingly important due to the premature failure of critical engineering components operating under severe wear conditions in automotive, aerospace, marine, defense, and power generation systems. Conventional composites such as Copper–Alumina and Aluminium–Silicon Carbide have demonstrated improved mechanical and wear characteristics; however, their widespread application is often limited by issues including particle agglomeration, non-uniform reinforcement distribution, porosity …

Modern Trends in Nano-Steel and Composites
Abstract: Alloy formation strategies procured as from powder produced after energetic mill. Micro-component is fabricated from nano-powder processing under controlled heating under reducing atmosphere. Nano-powder introduced more to ideal properties at rest an addendum protocol tending to theoretical assess. Steel crystal refinement is logical to subject nano-metric dimension to obsolete imperfections and to enhance strength than usually procured value. Discovery of nano-grain redefined super-strong steel to subject design of steel with …

A Review on Materials and Working Process Parameters of Selective Laser Sintering
Abstract: The potential for additive manufacturing technology to replace some of the current conventional manufacturing methods makes it one of the research and development fields that is expanding quickly. With additive manufacturing, three-dimensional physical models are produced layer by layer from computer-aided design (CAD) models. Fully dense metal things may be produced more rapidly and accurately with additive manufacturing. The Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) procedure uses powder bed fusion, in which …

Analytical Study on Humidity Sensing of Nanostructured Tin Oxide
Abstract: Nanocrystalline tin oxide powder was prepared by a mechanochemical method. The synthesised powder was characterised using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). XRD shows the crystalline nature of the synthesised material. The crystallite size was estimated using Debye–Scherrer equation and its minimum value was 9 nm. Surface morphologies of the sensing pellets were investigated using SEM. Pellets as well as thick films were used as sensing elements for …
