Radiation Effects in Acrylonitrile (AN) Ethyl Methacrylate Copolymer by Spectroscopic and Thermal Methods
Abstract: Gamma irradiation effects in acrylonitrile (AN) ethyl methacrylate (EMA) (AE) copolymer have been investigated by electron spin resonance (ESR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) techniques. Temperature and radiation dose dependent effects have been investigated by recording ESR spectra under different conditions. Computer simulation techniques are used to analyze ESR spectra to identify of free radical produced on irradiation of copolymer. As such, ESR spectrum of irradiated …

Engineered Polymer Composites for Non-Surgical Lip Posture Correction in Facial Paralysis
Abstract: Facial paralysis presents significant functional and aesthetic challenges, particularly through lip posture deficits such as drooping and drooling, often inadequately addressed by traditional surgical or drug-based interventions, especially in debilitated patients. This study explores the application of engineered polymer composites in a novel, non-surgical lip posture corrector designed to statically suspend and correct lip position without requiring surgical or dental support. The device utilizes a precisely formulated blend of polymethylmethacrylate …

Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR): A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: HNBR is produced by the hydrogenation of nitrile rubber (NBR) using either a homogeneous or heterogeneous technique. NBR is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile monomers. The hydrogenation process involves adding hydrogen to the nitrile butadiene copolymer, which results in improved resistance to heat, oxidation, and chemicals compared to NBR. This process alters the molecular structure of the rubber, providing it with superior properties compared to its unmodified counterpart, NBR. …
