Direct and rapid synthesis of amides from carboxylic acids under solvent free condition using Clay based Heterogeneous recyclable catalyst
Abstract: Direct condensation of Carboxylic Acids and Amines has resulted in a highly simple and practical technique for the synthesis of amides. Fe-Al clay catalyst was used in the solvent-free, microwave-irradiated amide synthesis. Only a small amount of the catalyst was needed to produce products in very short of time with a good yield. The catalyst was easy to separate and could be recycled several times with negligible loss of catalytic …

Heterogeneous vs. Homogeneous Catalysis: Comparative Insights and Breakthroughs
Abstract: Catalysis, a pivotal process in chemical reactions, can be classified into two main types: heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis. This comparative analysis delves into the distinctions, advantages, and breakthroughs in both domains. Heterogeneous catalysis, involving catalysts in a different phase than the reactants, is characterized by ease of separation and catalyst recovery, making it industrially favorable. Conversely, homogeneous catalysis, where catalysts and reactants share the same phase, offers superior selectivity and …

Application of flux cored arc welding (fcaw) without pre-heating for heavy structures in ship building fabrication & construction of heavy offshore structural steels
Abstract: In fusion welding processes, the reason often given to explain the need for preheating, controlling the inter pass temperature (in multi-pass welds), and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) is to reduce the risk of residual stresses and it can be removed by heating weldment in the heat affected zone (HAZ). Cold cracking is a hydrogen embrittlement phenomenon, often referred to as hydrogen induced cracking or HAZ cracking. During the construction and …
