LS-Coupled Atomic Term Symbols for nf7 Configuration
Abstract: In this manuscript, we described a simple method to obtain Russell Saunders atomic terms for nf7 configuration by microstate building and finally the splitting of LS terms, levels and states by different types of interaction represented pictorially. 3432 microstates in nf7 configuration resolve into 119 terms due to electronic interaction that are one (1) octet {8S}, six (6) sextets {6I, 6H, 6G, 6F, 6D, 6P}, forty (40) quartets {4N, 4M, …

Utilization of Waste Polyethylene Terephthalate with Bitumen for Road Construction
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is commonly used for soft drink water bottles and other applications. However, disposal of this waste PET in large quantities causes environmental problem, as it is considered non-biodegradable material. This study investigated utilization of waste PET mixed with 60/70 penetration grade of bitumen to be as a raw material for road construction. The effect of temperature (140, 150, 160°C), composition of PET (4, 8, 12%) and mixing …

A Developed and Validated Densitometric HPTLC method for Quantitative Analysis of Cefdinir
Abstract: A sensitive and accurate high performance thin layer chromatographic method has been developed and validated. Chromatographic separation was performed on silica gel F254 HPTLC plates, prewashed with methanol using methanol: toluene (9.5: 0.5 v/v), as solvent system. The plates were scanned densitometrically, with a deuterium lamp at 286 nm. The method was validated in accordance with the requirements of the ICH guidelines. The response to cefdinir concentration was linear in …

Effect of Nitrite on Oxygen Consumption and Ammonia Excretion of the Fresh Water Crab Paratelphusa jacquemontii (Rathbun)
Abstract: In aquatic ecosystem, nitrite concentrations are elevated by pollution with nitrogenous wastes and imbalances in bacterial nitrification and denitrification processes. Nitrite is transformed by nitrification to nitrate under aerobic condition. The effects of nitrite on physiology were investigated in the fresh water crab, Paratelphusa jacquemontii (carapace length 4–5 cm and weight 50–70 g) for 96 h. The crabs were exposed to sublethal concentration (1/10th and 1/20th of 96 h LC50) …

Modified Nucleosides “(ProTide)†as Potential Anti-HCV Therapeutics
Abstract: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is among the most common causes of cirrhosis and chronic liver disease worldwide. As a result, many researchers are interested in designing and synthesis of a clinical treatment for HCV. Nucleoside monophosphates and monophosphonates play such an important role for treatments of incurable diseases such as hepatitis. For example, 2'-C-methyladenosine and 2'-C-methyl guanosine have shown activities against HCV in the replicon assay as well as against …

INVESTIGATIONS ON BIODIESEL FROM WASTE COOKING OIL AS DIESEL FUEL SUBSTITUTE
Abstract: The waste cooking oil (WCO) as alternative fuel for diesel engines is the aim of this investigation. The high viscosity and poor volatility are the major limitations of waste cooking oil for their utilization in diesel engine. The most convenient method to use waste cooking oil as fuel is to convert it into biodiesel through transesterfication. The properties of waste cooking oil methyl ester such as viscosity, specific gravity, calorific …

Thermophilic Adaptation of Anaerobic Sludge for Electricity Production
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Anaerobic digestion of biogas inside the digester occurs in a particular temperature range. Research shows that the production can be increased by 33% by switching over from mesophilic temperature range (3040 ° C) to thermophilic temperature range (5060 ° C). Even then, biogas plants generally work in mesophilic range because a large amount of energy is required to maintain the high digester …

A Discrete Layer Shear Deformation Theory for Flexure of Thick Cross-ply Laminated Beams
Abstract: A discrete layer shear deformation theory taking into account transverse shear deformation effects, is presented for flexure of two layered (90/0) cross ply laminated beams. The displacement field of the theory contains two variables. Theory does not require shear correction factor. The sinusoidal function is used in the displacement field in terms of thickness coordinate to represent shear deformation. Transverse shear stress can be obtained from the use of constitutive …
