Nanotechnology and Sustainability Motion
Abstract: Nanotechnology is the focus of many scientific communities due to its multifunction. To realize such functionality, the size, dimensions, and shape dependent physio-chemical properties are first analyzed. Then, measurable nanostructures including nanomaterials, nanocomposite, and nanoparticles which impact the functional properties of materials and devises are assessed. Herein, the role of such nanostructures in enhancing the efficiency, performance, and quality of materials and technology is envisioned. As a vehicle, contributions of …

Advancements in graphene reinforced metal matrix composites: A comprehensive review
Abstract: The Present pollution norms insist automobile manufacturers to make use of ultra-high specific strength materials i.e., materials ahead of conventional metal matrix composites (MMCs) with micro-sized reinforcements. With the advent of nanomaterials, nanocomposites are being developed with properties that overcome the limitations for metals or composites with micro-sized reinforcements. In recent years, the family of graphene-based materials, in particular, graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) reinforced MMCs offering promising solutions to revolutionize the …

Conductive Polymers for Electro-Mechanical Systems: Structure–Property Relationships and Mechanical Behavior Under Stress
Abstract: Conductive polymers represent a unique class of functional materials that combine the electrical characteristics of metals with the mechanical flexibility of polymers. These dual properties are critical for the next generation of electro-mechanical systems, including wearable sensors, soft robotics, structural health monitoring (SHM), and biomedical actuators. However, the mechanical performance of conductive polymers under diverse stress conditions—such as elongation, cyclic loading, bending, and impact—remains a key challenge, limiting their long-term …

Spin Coated Polyvinylidene Difluoride / Ionic Liquid Nanocomposite Thin Films with Enhanced Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties
Abstract: This study introduces a novel approach to enhance the piezoelectric and dielectric properties of polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) by incorporating 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([BMIM][BF₄]) ionic liquid via a spin-coating method— a processing route that has been rarely reported for PVDF/ionic liquid composites. Structural and morphological analyses using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confirm the successful integration of [BMIM][BF₄] into the PVDF matrix. The …

Clay–Polymer Nanocomposites: An Efficient Adsorbent for Waste Water Treatment
Abstract: Despite the abundance of water sources, the globe today lacks potable water because to pollution. Pollutants can be removed from water using a variety of technologies, but adsorption is considered the most simple, effective, economical, and ecologically beneficial method. The class of adsorbents known as clay–polymer nanocomposite (CPN) adsorbents is one that is now gaining popularity. By adsorbing and flocculating inorganic and organic micropollutants from water, CPNs efficiently cleanse water. …
