MXene-Infused Conductive Nano-Polymers for Edge-Computing Enabled Flexible Environmental Monitoring Devices
Abstract: MXene-infused conductive polymer composites have emerged as highly promising materials for next-generation flexible environmental monitoring devices because they combine electrical conductivity, mechanical flexibility, analyte sensitivity, and compatibility with low-power electronics. In this work, a Ti₃C₂Tₓ MXene–TPU/PVA conductive nano-polymer composite was developed as a multifunctional sensing platform for edge-computing enabled environmental monitoring. The composite was fabricated by dispersing MXene nanosheets into a thermoplastic polyurethane/poly(vinyl alcohol) (TPU/PVA) matrix, coating the conductive precursor …

IoT-Connected Transparent Conductive Polymer–Silver Nano-wire Electrodes for Real-Time Performance Monitoring of Flexible Solar Panels
Abstract: Flexible photovoltaic technologies have emerged as promising energy harvesting solutions for wearable electronics, portable power systems, and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled smart devices. However, the limited mechanical durability of conventional transparent conductive electrodes and the lack of integrated real-time monitoring restrict their long-term reliability. This study presents an IoT-connected transparent conductive polymer–silver nanowire (PEDOT:PSS–AgNW) hybrid electrode for flexible solar panels, combining high optoelectronic performance with continuous wireless performance monitoring. The …

Physico-Mechanical Behavior of Euphorbia Abysinica and Wood Chips Composite
Abstract: In this study, we prepared composite test specimens from Eucalyptus chip particles of sizes 0.5 mm, 1 mm, and 2 mm combined with Euphorbia-Abyssinica fluid at an 80:20 mass ratio. We produced the particleboard under a compression load of 150 KN and kept it in the compression machine for thirty minutes inside the mold. After removing it from the machine, we secured it with C-clamps for twenty-four hours. We covered …

Characterization of Mechanical and Viscoelastic Properties of Ceramic Nanoparticle-Reinforced Polymer Composites
Abstract: This study examines the mechanical and viscoelastic properties of polymer composites reinforced with ceramic nanoparticles, specifically focusing on enhancing the performance of the material through the incorporation of alumina nanoparticles. The composites were produced by embedding alumina nanoparticles into an epoxy matrix, and their properties were assessed using tensile, flexural, and dynamic mechanical analyses (DMA). The tensile tests showed a remarkable 40% increase in tensile strength and a 35% enhancement …

Investigation to Enhance Performance of Finned U-Tube Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers Using Epoxy Based Polymer Composite Material
Abstract: Shell-and-tube heat exchangers remain indispensable in thermal engineering systems; however, conventional metallic configurations often face challenges related to corrosion, weight, and limited thermal optimization. In this study, a novel approach is proposed by integrating epoxy-based polymer composite materials with finned U-tube geometries to enhance thermo-hydraulic performance while addressing material limitations of traditional systems. The work focuses on the development and evaluation of a hybrid heat exchanger comprising a mild steel …

Flexural Response and Numerical simulation of Unidirectional Areca–Pineapple Leaf Fiber Hybrid Epoxy Composites
Abstract: The increasing demand for lightweight and environmentally sustainable materials has accelerated the development of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites for engineering applications. In the present study, unidirectional areca and pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) reinforced hybrid epoxy composites were fabricated using a simple hand lay-up process. Before fabrication, the fibers were chemically treated to improve fiber–matrix adhesion and enhance the mechanical performance of the laminates. Four different stacking sequences (A8, A7P1, A6P2, …
